Tis' true I tell thee.

I had to google that one, it seemed so outrageous. Indeed it appears to be true.

Just goes to show, fact is stranger than fiction.

He's wrestled with the Pope as wellwhistling.gif

I was a bit gob-smacked when I heard it myself.

Seems to be an incredible man does Brian Blessed, if he has a biography it would likely make for a great read.

I won't waste my time googling that one....I'll just take it as fact.

Wow, that Brian B gets around.

Why do we call shit excreta, when we don't take it in in the first place, we just push it out ( or speak it......).?

Wow, that Brian B gets around.

He also didn't like the religious connotations of his name when a child, so he changed it as soon as he could.................( he used to be Edward Blessed )

I s'pose the life of Brian hadn't been made yet then

As long as his life story wasn't Life Of Garp.

Had a good crop of strawberries for Xmas.

I found this in the paper.

Plants tend to have far more complex DNA than animals, and the scientists identified 34,809 genes in the wild strawberry.

Humans have around 20,000 to 25,000 genes.

Makes ya wonder why plants are not boss.

SEEMS OUR WORLD IS A PARADOX

THE earth continues to get warmer, yet it’s feeling a lot colder outside. Over the past few weeks, subzero temperatures in Poland claimed 66 lives; snow arrived in Seattle well before the winter solstice, and fell heavily enough in Minneapolis to make the roof of the Metrodome collapse; and last week blizzards closed Europe’s busiest airports in London and Frankfurt for days, stranding holiday travelers. The snow and record cold have invaded the Eastern United States, with more bad weather predicted.

All of this cold was met with perfect comic timing by the release of a World Meteorological Organization report showing that 2010 will probably be among the three warmest years on record, and 2001 through 2010 the warmest decade on record.

How can we reconcile this? The not-so-obvious short answer is that the overall warming of the atmosphere is actually creating cold-weather extremes. Last winter, too, was exceptionally snowy and cold across the Eastern United States and Eurasia, as were seven of the previous nine winters.

FULL ARTICAL.....

I am the proud "owner"...."host" would be a better word.....of a bumble bee nest,

Just found it today, under the house. A constant stream of bumble bees led me to it.

At first I thought I might sell it to a glasshouse grower.....but nah....I'm happy having the little fellows pollinating my plants.

Anyway, back to " Mirror, mirror on the wall" ( have to try to catch any more closet Germans while we can )...Urban myth or not? I say urban myth, she never said it.............

^^ They grow glasshouses in New Zild?

My, you are a clever people, what do you use for seeds... broken beer bottles?

Anyway, back to " Mirror, mirror on the wall" ( have to try to catch any more closet Germans while we can )...Urban myth or not? I say urban myth, she never said it.............

Who was it then?

Roger Moore?

Ha you Nazi !! got you.

She said " Magic mirror on the wall". Every true English speaking man ( or woman ) knows their Disney cartoons by heart, specially Snow White...You sir are exposed !!! ( expect an Israeli hit squad by Monday )

Another example of Hollywood propaganda machine attempting to change history.

I suppose you believe their version of World War Two as well?

Did you know John Wayne and Joseph Goebbels were secret lovers?

Or a Russian with Polonium.....or is Mercury now the poison of choice?

I always liked Freddie, how dare you.........

The trouble with Mercury's band, Queens, is that there were too many assistants and hangers on. Even Freddie had his own aids.

I always liked Freddie, how dare you.........

I liked Freddy too....still like him.

Why don't you like him anymore?

Manure... An interesting fact

Manure : In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were quite common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas of course.. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen.

Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction ' Stow high in transit ' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ' , (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

You probably did not know the true history of this word.

Neither did I.

I had always thought it was a golf term.

Actually, not to pop your bubble, but I DID know this from your exact same post of about 2 years ago. ;)

I have trouble remembering what I posted yesterday let alone 2008.
