Perhaps the most significant fact is that when I woke up on the morning of September 12 (NZ time) and that footage was being played, amongst the real time footage of the event, prior to the collapse, it was night in Palestine at that time yet the footage showed full daytime.

I recall watching a CNN apology of sorts after the scandal broke.

I was trying to make a point against somebody else's post, it didn't translate well, or more importantly, I just didn't do it well.

If they were referring to the majority of Musims, I'm afraid that your freinds were either being dishonest with you or with themselves. There are very clear videos of them laughing and rejoicing on You Tube.

I was in Vientiane, where they probably have better reasons to dislike the US than the Arab states, on 9/11 day and the atmosphere was quite strange. A long way short of open rejoicing... more a bemused sense of satisfaction.
