Hi

I obtained a work permit in September from my work (teacher). I was already on a m.entry 1 year non imm o from Hull which i first entered into thailand date 8th april 09. My contract at work finishes 1st day of March therefore w.p is finished. Coincidently my next 3month top up border thing is due to be done on the 7th March. Now this is my question, what will happen on my next visa run, will i be given 3 months again like i have being given, i heard that if i pay extra i get an additional 3 months? But as i entered in april my visa year wont be used up as ill be doing in march, even more confusingly for you, does this mean i dont have to pay extra at all and actually get 14months.

Also just to make sure my visa wont be cancelled along with th wp will it? Im guessing not as i obtained b4 the w.p

cheers :-)

Doesn't matter when you first entered or your WP, look at the "use before date" on your visa. If you exit and then re-enter before that date, you will be admitted for 90 days, no extra charges will be due. Also, do not stay past the current permitted to stay date.

As long as you return before the visa expiration date (which you failed to mention) you will receive a new 90 day permitted to stay stamp.

Your visa expiration date is marked on the visa itself and has nothing to do with when you entered Thailand. It will be one year from visa issue date at Consulate.

ah ok visa expiration is 23rd march 2010, so even if it runs over when i get the 3 months at 7th march, is that cool? so i dont have to pay anything extra whatsover??

Do your border run on 7th March and you will receive new 90 day permission to stay on re-entry. What allows you to remain in the country is your permission to stay, not your visa. The only fee may be for a visa for the country you enter doing your border run, if one is required.

my wp finishes on friday, i dont need a new visa now do i? as i said b4 i obtained it b4 getting a w.p

If you have a Visa no.

If you have an extension of stay yes.

Just do your planned run to obtain a new 90 day stay before your visa itself expires. Your current 90 day stay is not effected by end of employment.

You are on multiple entry Non-O visa, so your current permission to stay is not affected by termination in employment. Do your next visa run as planned before your visa expires to obtain new 90 day permission to stay.
