January 27, 201016 yr I'd love to claim that victory......but with honour, I must decline. As I was playing under the Sherrif of Marlborough's Variation, my intent was not a speedy victory, and the competition could, nay should, continue. It should be noted that the rules as per the 'Tome of the Ancient Tubes of Londinium', were deemed obsolete in the High Court. (cf Marlborough v MCJC (Mornington Cres Judiciary Committee), 6th September 1702) I fear that you are running off the rails with that citation; you are relying upon the minority judgment of Lords Piffletwat and Chynless-Underbyte. Nonetheless, if you insist on fast-tracking to folly, far be it from me to interfere...
It is well documented that Chynless-Underbyte and Piffletwat were the only incorruptable members of that panel. As such, it is disconerting to me that you introduce that sad technicality, and ignore the popular (not to mention fairer) view of this situation. Don't hide behind technicalities. Come to the light side, and feel the high of mounting the moral horse.
January 27, 201016 yr Whilst technically legal, I feel that many of these manouveres are not being played within the spirit of the game. Therefore, I shall introduce a sporting nature to the game by giving: Sloane Square
January 27, 201016 yr The mark is at Heathrow is accepted by me....... I offer you West End, and throw down the Jubilee Gauntlet, Mr Sceadugenga, or any that dare pick it up.
January 27, 201016 yr Well, looks like the game has stalled somewhat. I was just leafing through my copy of the Trans-London Ammendment to the 1986 extended Rules, and it seems that someone who calls a 'stall' can restart the game, as long as it is a station on the Circle Line. So, I'm gonna plonk us down at Sloane Square, and travel to Bond Street changing at Victoria and Green Park. Now, to make sure we are on the right track, my hint is remember that the use of two changes invokes the overground train routes, and you all know what that means... totster
January 27, 201016 yr ....it means, HAMPSTEAD HEATH!!!!!!! I lay claim to Thrice Offered Place prize! I declare Hampstead Heath is now the kiggle caggle. Dare anyone object?
January 27, 201016 yr I am not sure if the Newcastle convention amendment of 86 would agree with that.
January 27, 201016 yr If you are not sure, why bring it up? Would you take my reassurance that the NC Amendment of '86 does indeed agree with the declaration? If not, I draw a Community Chest.
January 27, 201016 yr This game has become stale, time to inject some new life into it:Bank As an observer, I would have to say that the introduction of your power play at this point in the game is either a strategic coup or wantonly reckless. The next few moves should provide the answer...
January 27, 201016 yr Woe to he who takes the afternoon off and returns to chaos. Order must be restored. Hatton Cross. I'm going start posting in Elf Runes if this amateurish play continues.
January 27, 201016 yr Wowzer, this is serious stuff, many chess players here I'm sure. I'm going to ruin it all by invoking the Fiddling-Todger double back. Leicester square.
January 27, 201016 yr I know this is a cheap shot but I am backed into a corner here and so I have little choice: Aldgate
January 27, 201016 yr Better play guys, better play... keep up the good work. Time for a strategic sacrifice. Osterley
January 28, 201016 yr Author Hmmmm..... I see what your doing, and so think I should use a Gruntfuttock Gambit. Tooting Bec
January 28, 201016 yr Hmmm... Rule 132a clearly states that if Gruntfutock is spelled with a double T by the previous contestant the next station must be East Finchley.
January 28, 201016 yr Author I could say that by quoting the rules you are breaking the rules and so should place yourself in nid for the next three moves. But that would be quoting the rules.....so I wont. White City
January 28, 201016 yr I am led to believe that the relatively recent meeting of Kent old boys in 93 convened that quoting of the rules is perfectly acceptable in the absence of a designated match chairperson. They did also rule however that a three move ban would be enforced should the rules be quoted incorrectly, so as to avoid the possibility of players making up the rules as they go along. Regardless: Wendover
January 28, 201016 yr Ouch, that's a cracking move.. leaves me no option other than.. Covent Garden totster
January 28, 201016 yr I've had Covent Garden on the backburner for a while but a niggling doubt held me back. I can see why now.... Island Gardens!!!!!!
January 28, 201016 yr Oh dear. How could you do that. Such a move leaves it wide open for me to go directly to Mornington Crescent and therefore win the game. I feel that there are more legs in this game though and so being a sporting chap, I shall instead wind it back by taking us to St. Pancras. Please do be more vigilant in the future as there are plenty others out there who would snap up such an opportunity, killing the game prematurely.
January 28, 201016 yr No, Mornington Crescent cannot be accessed after Island Garden on a Wednesday. Think of the embarrassment you've saved yourself by withdrawing the move. Tower Gateway.
January 28, 201016 yr Author I see that we have had some overground and DLR stations, and so are playing the extended version of the game. I am therefore tempted to outflank you all by going to Siam Square; but instead I'll play fair and go to....... Kilburn
January 28, 201016 yr Ah, I have the best move so far - Kings Cross! Now, scratch your heads and come up with a reply to that one!!!
