New Shopping Mall In Phuket

Featured Replies

I was interviewed yesterday by representative of British investor who intends to build small to mid-size shopping mall at the land plot between Central Festival and Big C at Bypass Rd.

They already bought the land, 9 rai to be exact, but construction won't start until next year.

Apparently, the largest portion of space would be reserved for Multi AV, home electronic appliances chain.

They are still undecided what architectural style to use, but they kind of lean towards Sino-Portuguese style. I've seen the blueprint and potential franchises that will occupy the building. Looks promising.

With all these new malls and shopping centres, Bypass Rd is slowly becoming Phuket version of Orchard Rd in Singapore but hardly any pedestrian zones except that narrow pathway and bridge between Central and Home Works.

Phew, I'm glad I can buy my home electronic equipment from somewhere then.....Big C, Festival and HomeWorks just don't seem to cater for that......... :) Glad they are thinking out of the box and offering niche products.

Just what Phuket needs…more shopping malls, more concrete… think I already can see the slogan to the travel agencies a few year out…. Special shopping fare to the Thai concrete island…

Mall burger breakfast and security guard included.

Yep, another load of shop units filled with the same shop names and cartel pricing. Can't wait.
