BMA cancels plan to relocate pigeons to Ratchaburi

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Tuesday backed down on the plan to send some 10,000 pigeons from Sanam Luang to Ratchaburi province following oppositions from locals.

The Sanam Luang landscaping project committee's working team on pigeon issue would discuss for other solution as to where to move the birds to, said BMA Deputy Governor Theerachon Manomaipiboon.

Initially, President of the Friendship Association for Pigeon Racing, Neti Tantimontri, has offered to take the birds to be raised in the thousands-rai plot in Soi Lat Phrao 87, he said.

Man, I really wanted to see how they did this. I can't relocate 4-5 pigeons five feet off my balcony without a fence or a cover, so whatever magical method they have for relocating pigeons to another part of the country would have been fascinating to see, heh. Maybe it got called off when someone asked, "How do we plan to do this?" My advice would have been to move my balcony to Ratchaburi, because apparently all pigeons consider it like the Studio 54 of pigeon hangouts.

A few teams of 'gun's with lab's and springers to retrieve them for a massive pigeon pie. Relocation over.

Mind with 10,000 of the buggers maybe machine guns rather than Purdy's would be in order.

Just catch as many as you can , then put them in a coupe, pair them off . when they lay eggs they will not leave them so you can let them out. pigeons relocated,

We already have more than enough pigeons here in Ratchaburi thank you, I have spent considerable time keeping them out of my gutters etc they are a complete nuisance.

Shotguns!!

Isn't that the true Thai way? If it moves, shoot it; if it doesn't, cut it down.

Or are they homing pigeons????

All pigeons have a homing instinct. To a greater or lesser degree.

Rats with wings I like to call them.
