A lively atmosphere of this year's Chinese New Year festivities can be seen, with Thai-Chinese residents pouring in to purchase their offering goods. Such products include Chinese sausages, orange bags, and red money envelopes. Dried squid with long arms have been selling particularly well as Chinese people believe that consuming them will increase their longevity. The streets have been elaborately decorated with colorful red lanterns and the bustling activity in the area has caused increased traffic congestion.
