Featured Replies

Would anyone be able to assit me with information regarding which air carriers fly direct Chiang Mai - Yanong?

direct flight is back since mid-january. air bagan has two flights per week, thursday and sunday.

RGN-CNX 12:00-13:30

CNX-RGN 14:30-15:00

one local agent has RT tix at 8700-9100 baht, depending on trip duration.

they need one week for the visa, and will charge 2500 baht.

online visa on arrival may (or may not) be available.

air bagan is currently running a promotion; rt flight + 3 nights in yangon for $272

Just as a matter of interest!! How do you get a "visa on arrival online" :)

once upon a time, the myanmar embassy website had an online visa

application, you would get emailed a letter which would allow you to

board your flight. arriving in yangon, your visa would be put into your

passport. for some reason, you are now required to get your visa at

an embassy.

but if you go through a myanmar travel agency, they can give you

essentially the same deal. online application with them, provide

a scanned copy of your passport and a digital passport photo.

they run your documents through the appropriate ministries, upon

approval you get the emailed letter. in yangon, they meet you at

the airport to handle the visa stamp formalities.

cost is $20 for the visa, plus their service fee. looking online, it runs

$30-50 for the agency fee. you pay at time of visa stamping.

.........or that's the way it's supposed to work. i'm planning on going

to burmyanmar in a couple months. i'll let you know.
