Or "Witloof" / "Chicon", for us Belgian.

Try a Carrefour located in an area with high density of expats (ie Rama IV)

My locale one's (Bang Yai) used to import them... but not anymore. :)

Villa at Sukhumvit 33 and at Sukhumvit 11 sometimes have some.

As well, I got lucky once, I found some et Tops under Central Ploenchit...

Almost the price of gold!

If you have friends coming to visit you from Europeask them to bring you some!

Oh my !

Who could imagine this humble and cheap vegetable would have to travel across the earth, doubling its farang price in the process, before reaching the Thai golden temples of consumption . . .

geeeez . . .

but well, it's a craving, and I rarely give in to them... too bad for my wallet and my carbon footprint, I'll ride across Bangkok on this holy crusade ! Hooray !

Cheers all ^^

In Belgium, it was considered as a poor man vegetable.

Must be the season, right now... Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look!

Was in Carrefour Ratchada this afternoon, but they didn't have any. So well, I got some zucchinis to cook a ratatouille to keep me waiting, and I'll find some time for the Holy Witlof Crusade later on !

Cheers all !

Please let us know as soon you find them... I am missing "Chicons au gratin"

Witloof and ham roulade baked with mornay (bechamel+cheese) sauce, served with mashed potatoes:

P.S.: perfect dish for this weather... as soon you've got a nice air-con!
