Russian Couple Caught Having Sex On Pattaya Beach

It has become a common site here in Pattaya for Russian Couples to be caught have sex in public places. Just after 7.30 on Sunday Night, a Russian Couple who refused to give over their names, were caught having sex close to the Bali Hai Port located at the south-end of Pattaya Beach. Video footage was presented to the Police who detained the couple and took them to the Police Station where they were fined for conducting a lewd act in a public place. Both appeared fairly relaxed when they were taken away, but they were later given a stern warning to keep their cloths on and emotions in check and to respect Thai Culture and not to do this again in a public place.

I think it is outrageous for them to refuse to give their names to the police when they have been arrested for an offence. The fact the police accetped this sets a precedent.

We don't need to know it, and it may not matter for the lesson learned, but to have the cheek to refuse to give the police their names is disrespectful and arrogant.

It's a wonder the police didn't wonder what else they may be hiding faced with this refusal.

Presumably they didn't have their passports on them? Another fine?

What is this obsession with 'Thai Culture'? I know no country or culture which would tolerate urinating, defecating or having sex in public places. Not even in 'nudist beaches'.

The problem is, it only cost them what? 500bt? 1000bt? 2000bt?... cheap payment for the thrill. Making it cost 100,000bt plus immediate mandatory deportation would

look good for Thailand

help maintain the law and order

bring sizeable money to the state

send good strong message to their country

serve as a more serious deterrant in future cases

Cultural Committee Chairman speaks out on recent Russian Public Sex case

On Monday we spoke with Khun Surat, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Banglamung Cultural Committee about the recent cases of foreigners being caught conducting lewd acts in public places. The most recent reported case was a couple from Russia who were caught having sex at the Bali Hai Port located at the south end of Pattaya Beach, over the weekend. In the majority of these cases, the participants are fined between 500 and 2,000 Baht which is not enough according to Khun Surat who believes a sterner punishment should be given to those who conduct the lewd acts as these small fines are not enough of a deterrent. According to Thai culture, public displays of affection are frowned upon. Khun Surat believes that this situation must be controlled sooner rather than later as the image these stories are portraying to the rest of the world are not helping the image of Pattaya as a tourist destination suitable for families. Khun Surat will be sending a report to the Governor of Chonburi Province to ask for a change in the law to allow for sterner punishment in cases involving lewd acts in a public place.

I'm in a resort in Pattaya now that is full of Russians. Judging by their complete lack of manners and disregard of anybody else around them, I am not at all surprised that so many get their pale <deleted> out for a round of public sex.

Ah comon guys you never had a romp on the beach. A buddy of mine & our 2 girls in San francisco at the cliff house beach decided to do the dog & almost got caught .I think the footsie at the beach resturaunt with the girls under the table might have been the give away. Had the heat showed up 2 minutes later they would have had us befor the zippers went up. They new we were at it for a while as we had spectators. In Tahoe it is very common or at least it was in the 80's to get it on at the beach in the night or in a sleeping bag on the peer in the day. Sometimes the heat of the moment gets you.
