Beer Chang - What Happened?

Featured Replies

Is it just me (perhaps my taste buds have got too used to all that Fosters and Tuborg I've been knocking back in India for the past few months) or does the new "Chang Classic" really taste different, like not as full bodied?

It also seems not as strong as before.

I really like this Chang Classic that we have now.

I drank Singha for years, but get a better buzz

from the Chang. I'm a convert!

They "borrowed" the Carlsberg recipe............ did they not ?

:)

You are correct. I drink Chang Draught, when they changed the labelling they also changed the beer. My pal came back from the UK at the time of the labelling change and he said it tasted different. We emailed Chang and got a very good English reply saying nothing had been altered in the beer but it now can have a longer shelf life. Uh, that told us they have changed or added something. We noticed it was more acidic and did add a bit to indigestion. You are not alone, it is different and is not as "more-ish" as it was. :)

Good explanation. If they add something to preserve it better then they HAVE changed it. Now, whether or not you like the change is entirely up to the individual.

There was a great multi-grain bread that I used to love... and then it changed... for the worse. I asked the company and they said it was just the same recipe. Then, I noticed the bread didn't grow mouldy if left too long. It lasted far longer... which was a good thing, But, the taste definitely went down hill.

Aha! Thought so. Least I'm not alone. Thanks.

Maybe they put less formaldehyde in :D , as I notice I don't feel as bad the next morning...

I actually like the "classic" beer, the hangovers seem to be less violent, still full strength though, 6.4% according to the label on the bottle im currently drinking.
