Obtaining Euros At Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever managed to exchange baht for euros at the airport? I seem to remember trying several exchange places there in the past and being told 'no have'! Strange, when you imagine that many new arrivals will be exchanging their foreign currency for baht.

I think people arriving would change their Euros downtown or somewhere else, as you get a better rate than at the Airport.

Bangkok bank is same at the airport as going into the bank.

There are a few foreign currency ATM's that dispense US$ and Euros - I think they belong to SCB

I had no trouble changing THB into Euros at one of the desks airside last December. Sorry, don't remember which, but it is possible.I had turned right after going through International Departures, the bank was just past the first set of shops , on the left.

:)

No problem exchanging Baht for Euros...at least after you go through the exit passport check and departure area. Right outside those desks where you have your pasport checks, on your left as you exit, there are a number of exchange places where you can get Euros. I used them last on the 8th of February this year. I had some Baht left, so I changed it for Euros after I went through the departure/passport area. No problem, they even had 1 Euro coins.

I haven't ever changed Baht for Euro before I went through the passport/departure area....but I have exchanged baht fo U.S. dollars there. I expect that they would also have Euro...it is a international currency now, and used just about everywhere on the European continent. It's not a freak, it's a real currency here in Europe.

If I have a few hundred Baht left when I'm leaving, I always get Eoro change to use as taxi fare from the airport to my apartment when I arrrive in Greece. You also need 1 Euro coins in Athens at the airport if you want a baggage trolleys (they take 1 Euro coins to get them out of the stack).

:D
