I have just realised i have had 4 showers already today, trying to cool down in this heat...sometimes i wish i had air-con,might have to invest.... even the portable fans air seems to be hot,i suppose by the end of the day i will be up in the double figures again...maybe 10/12 would you say this is normal for this time of year?

Maybe i can call the guiness book of records :D

I would warn people also when taking that lunch time mid afternoon shower be very careful as the first minute of water is scoldingly hot (ouch!) that is of course if you are just on cold like myself! :D

44 on my thermometer now ....few!

ab nam lil!.... :)

:D

Well i am sat next to the fridge with the door open if that gets points for ingenuity(sp?) :)

Evaporation is an alternative to refrigeration when it comes to persuading hot air to find some alternative activity to do in the afternoons, but the humidity will become rather unsavoury after you find a garden hose and squirt down all around the outdoor/outwindow areas like verandahs and such. Lucky it's almost 16:00 and the cool of the night will be not long away.

Is there any wind blowing at the moment? A breeze might reduce the 44C down a little. 44C is about the hottest I've ever lived in in Perth, Au, but summers there are dry heat, and much easier to cope with than here in the tropics.

It's currently 32C here on Rayong, but according to my Ubuntu weather report, it feels like 40.1 with relative humidity @ 67%, dew-point 25C, pressure @ 1010.04 hPa, and lucky me, sea breezes at 10 kts.

Time for a cool change.

Drink Hot Tea I was once told by an old Chinese / Arab guy when the weather gets hot.

Yes! That's what we do in the heat of Australian summers when we're working out in the Sun. Hot black tea with no sugar.

It is cooling a little now 40 reading but no sea breeze alas!

yes james i do indulge my afternoon tea fantasys quite often, but this last week more so! good job i brought some yorkshire tea with me...short on scones and clotted cream though....never mind i will nip to the shop and get one of those sweet sandwiches they sell and buy some carnation milk, imagination is a great thing in a tropical lucid state of mind :D

Think i will have another shower first to look clean and cool for the lady in the shop....so when she gets her fat arse off the stool in front of the thai boxing an flip flops up to me giving it the "rhon rhon rhon"(while shaking her head) i will just look o so cool....

oh well ab nam!! :)

What exactly do you expect from living in Thailand with no air conditioning?

I fail to see why your 4 showers is of any importance to anyone?

I mean really.

Why does this warrant a post at all?

You move to the tropics then complain how many showers you are taking.

Instead of wasting time posting, go buy yourself some air conditioning

Up to him, if you don't like it, move on.....one would wonder why you bothered prattling away about it. :)

Its not hot at all at my place and we have a lovely sea breeze.

7 Showers now actually! and it might not be important to you but the guiness book of records is sending someone over as we speak!

I mean really!

what sub forum is this in???? take a rain check dingo! if we was all as serious as you <deleted>!

I repeat, there is a world record attempt being made here and all you can do is bitch about the quality of post. :)

What do you want Einstein?

And by the way it is hot.... and believe it or not the climate politically or weather wise is probably dominating Thailand rigt now a lot more than you obviously realise???

It is called light hearted observation or fun!... if that makes it easier to comprehend

I fail to see what your answer does contribute at all.

Maybe you are a bit upset because it is warm.....

Don't ya'll find it funny that if you were to dig a hole, about 3.5~4.0 meters down and hang a thermometer in there, that the mean temperature down there is between 10~12 degrees-C LOWER than the outside ambient air . . . . and what do we DO with this information ? ? ?

Well; I am in the process of building some villas with this in mind. It's basically very simple; a 100mm tube dug-in at 4.o m. deep starts and ends-up in the dwelling. A simple (solar-powered) in-line ventilator pushes the air through the entire system at fairly low speed (giving the tube enough time to "exchange" the initially warm air to a much lower temperature) This much cooler air is then 'vented' into living-room and/or bedroom and, voila; a free air-cooling system is born.

But before you try this "at home", better PM me, because even though it all sounds pretty simple, there are a few do's and don'ts here also.

Interesting, you are joking i presume if not i would love to see your plans and what research you have attained for this, what temperature of the initial warm air can you decrease it to?

Yours interested?
