jintarla poonlarbs my favourite, been listening to her music for over ten year, from the first day i set foot in the country. doesnt go down to well with the wife though, think theirs a bit of jelousy on her part. she absolutely hates it every time i put any of her vcds on.

also like dacatan churada, siriporn um pai wong, pai pong sa ton, got jackapan, pee sa dirt and many others.

lucky to have one of those twangdeng clubs down the road, love it! bottle of whiskey, good food and sing song with the locals.

on the flip side, there are some good bands out there like, silly fools, hang man(ex frontman of silly fools outfit), the potatoe and bodyslam.

I like the stuff from Issan that doesnt have a wailing man or woman in ie the instrumental stuff played on whats sounds a bit like a Sitar???

I've never listened to it that much. It all sounds quite basic and unimaginative to me to be honest. But I do like quite like 'Endorphene'. I've seen a couple in concert, like 'Modern Dog', 'Big Ass' and anther couple. I wasn't exactly impressed, but then again I shouldn't expect too much not understanding much of what they were screaming :) .

Da Endorphine is my favorite.

Fantastic voice and some very good melodies/songs.

I like the concert sound best - Illusion Concert in Chitlom Stadion / Bangkok.

I don't like the rest of Thai singers much.

The songs sound too slow for my taste and the melodies are very similar from one to another.

I'll try to hear some samples of all names I will read in this thread.

ok, Hang Man got my attention!

I like luk tung/morlam (Thai blue grass/country) My favorite singer is the cute Isan girl named Jin tan a some thing. Short hair and bangs, She really belt the tunes out :)

if you get the chance, have a listen to the first self titled album "hangman"

also silly fools "king size"

rate them up against most western world groups/bands.

carabao and sek loso are awesome

currently listening to tina mamakiss and bodyslam

other thai bands include hobbit, frick, en dorphine and big ass

:)

carabao and sek loso are awesome

I also like these 2 groups but most other Thai music is far too repetitive & mind numbing for me.

any youtube link?

couldn't find her

im not sure if i can post links if that doesnt work try putting "tina thai" in youtube

Buddha Bless

Big Ass

Body Slam

Hang Man

Silly Fools

Retrospect

Groove Riders

Joey Boy

Gancore Club

Da Endorphine

Clash

Loso

Ebola

I've seen a lot of them live. I would also say that Buddha Bless is my favorite group.

Sadly now that I am state side, I don't get to see many concerts, but Potato is doing a tour, I think I will surprise my wife since she really likes them.

Lots of Thai bands I like, but Silly Fools are my all time favorite, if it had been in English King Size would have been a worldwide hit. Maybe bands like Abuse the Youth are smart to sing in English, but also think it loses something unique.

Yeah I like, Palmy and Endorphine

Buddha Bless - These guys are pretty hilarious

Big Ass, honestly I think they put out some of the best rock in the last decade.
