Paetongtarn, daughter of Pheu Thai's Thaksin Shinawatra, may be ordered to step down, pending a court decision regarding her actions during the Thai-Cambodian border conflict. Without giving specifics, she confirmed intentions to elevate and market Thailand’s cultural prowess globally. Previously, a budget of 5.1 billion baht was set aside by a past Pheu Thai-led government for this cultural scheme, though progress has been limited. As Culture Minister, Paetongtarn has committed to developing soft power alongside tourism and sports projects. However, should the court decide against her tomorrow, Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai is expected to step in as caretaker prime minister. Phumtham, closely aligned with Thaksin, would likely manage the interior portfolio simultaneously. This cabinet reshuffle, placing Thaksin’s daughter in charge of culture, has sparked discussions about tactics to maintain her role within the Pheu Thai-led government. Thammasat University's Prinya Thaewanarumitkul highlighted it as a strategic move to retain her influence. Should Paetongtarn be removed from her position, Pheu Thai MP Chaikasem Nitisiri could be appointed as the new prime minister. Paetongtarn faces allegations of political naivety and compromising Thailand’s interests while interacting with Cambodian leader Hun Sen, a situation perceived to harm the nation's prestige. Despite potential political upheaval, the Pheu Thai Party remains the central force in the coalition government, with Thaksin likely aiming to keep the premiership within his party. Chaikasem, one of Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidates in the 2023 elections, joins Paetongtarn and former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin as possible successors. Crime Canadian Man Caught Smuggling Heroin Hidden in Women’s Handbags at Airport

Thai customs officers at Suvarnabhumi Airport have arrested a Canadian national attempting to smuggle over three kilograms of heroin cleverly concealed in women’s handbags. The man, who was en route to Taiwan, now faces serious drug trafficking charges under the law. The arrest took place on the morning of 30 June, after customs officials became suspicious of the man’s luggage due to its unusual weight and bulkiness. An X-ray scan revealed suspicious items consistent with narcotics, prompting authorities to conduct a detailed inspection. Inside the suitcase, officers discovered several brown and black women’s handbags, along with ordinary clothing and shoes. A closer inspection of the suitcase’s internal walls revealed grey fabric packages wrapped in black tape. These packages, once opened, were found to contain carbon paper and clear plastic bags filled with white powder, which later tested positive for heroin. Further inspection of the two handbags revealed even more heroin. Officials noticed fresh stitching on the sides of the bags, which appeared unusually thick. After cutting into the lining, they discovered additional grey packages, also containing heroin. The total weight of the seized narcotics was 3,235 grams with an estimated street value of over 1 million baht. The Canadian suspect was preparing to board a China Airlines flight from Bangkok to Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan. He has been charged with attempting to smuggle Category 1 narcotics (heroin) out of the country. The case has been handed over to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau for further investigation, including inquiries into any broader trafficking network. A spokesperson for Thailand’s Customs Department revealed that between October 2024 and 30 June 2025, officers have intercepted heroin in 28 separate cases, totalling nearly 98 kilograms in seizures. Is Melatonin Unavailable in Thailand Now?
Yes. I wanted to do that due to no melatonin ordering from iherb and saw the prices are much lower on lazada like they say but 3 for the price of 1 but even fake they only ship one bottle not 3, complete scam. -
