What or where is the best way for me to buy Adobe Photoshop in Thailand.

We've been using a Nikon program up until recently, but I feel photoshop is the way to go. Its quite expensive :) & cannot be bought online here, at this time. Any suggestions?

I was thinking CS4 was the way to go, anyone got any tips?

cheers yet again.

ps: I'm only interested in legit stuff, not illegal copies etc (of course) :D

why shouldn't you be able to buy and download online? It's about 1gig file. CS5 is the latest.

You can download it first, install and pay.

Sorry of course, but I want the disc & rest of the kit and they don't do that through the mail here into Thailand.

You can download and burn it on a disc as a backup. What's your problem? It's faster then waiting for the mail to come.

With Google I found a site offering a 163% discount.................

Does that mean they pay me for using it? :)

or just an appallingly low grasp of mathematics?

Why not try "Gimp" instead. A fantastic free alternative to Photoshop - once you get used to it. It's not the same as Photoshop but it sure is powerful, and probably the most powerful free opensource programme on the planet (and I have used CS3 and CS4 a LOT). Photoshop CS4 has the edge for sure, but not by much, and costs a fortune!

if you are not willing to pay for the full version of photoshop you can try photoshop LE that is a limited version of photoshop but still usable and allow to do most of the things that normally you would do in PS. I think this version is missing some of the color management stuff for the print and some other features, but is definitely cheaper running at around 99$, or buying a wacom graphic tablet you may get it included. Another solution can be gimp that is free and very similar software. Unless you have some particular reason to get the full version, this is my suggestion, but evaluate if the limited features in LE version are enough for what you need.

No mention of CS5 on the web site given by elcent??

That's because it hasn't been released yet. Scheduled release is April 12, 2010. A large group of selected Photoshop users were invited to beta test in Mid-February of 2010. However it appears that is the release date for first look but not the shipping date which has not been announced.

Second that. Perfectly adequate for general photography rather than most of the print "stuff" that is in CS4.

If you want to get CS4 later you can pay the upgrade fee.

Thankyou to both of you.....I will have a look at these options. Cheers (this is why I posted here) :)

Ja have Photoshop CS4, Photoshop Elements, Adobe Lightroom and ACDSee Proo.

99% of the time I use ACDSee Proo, very easy to use, have most of the functions the other have and much cheaper.

Just my experiences!

I use Adobe Lightroom 2.1 for all my quick editing and image corrections. Latest version has dust spot removal, selective toning and heaps of features I've never used or needed.

For most stuff this software is ideal and great for locating images through Metadata. You can also convert RAW files to JPEG< TIFF etc.

Also has neat slideshow software built in.

You can always do extra editing through Adobe Photoshop LE.
