No, this Postman Pat definitely doesnt have a black and white cat, nor is he a Mackem!! In fact hes a fan of another Championship team and having observed the whole season, it is absolutely clear that the parachute payments of 12 million quid made all the difference for West Brom and Geordies. Both were able to afford to strengthen very significantly in the January window, and both were able to pay Premiership wages throughout the season, unlike all the other Championship teams, and as a result, both got promoted easily in the end.

Unfortunately a "parachute paid" elite has been created which makes it much easier for the relegated teams to go back up, and almost impossible for other championship teams to compete on equal terms. It will get even worse next season when it is proposed to increase parachute payments to 16 million quid.

Oh, by the way, Geordies, heres a clue to my allegiance. In the last 50 years your team has won....nothing (OK, a Fairs Cup) !! My team has won two European Cups, The world Club Championship, numerous League Cups, and of course, the old 1st Division under the greatest manager who ever lived....and before you say it, yes, distant memories, but nowhere near as distant as yours!!!

Clough the greatest manager that ever lived??

Keep taking the tablets,it might help towards your bitterness.

The greatest manager working with very limited resources. His trophy to available finance ratio was way ahead of most that have followed him, certainly way way ahead of your Wengers, Mourhinos etc. Ferguson, OK, I ll take him on the chin, even with the huge resources at Man U. his achievements have been great...and it hurts me to say it!!

But Cloughie, and Taylors achievements? Remarkable!! Could you ever see a promoted team winning the Premiership the next season and then the Champions League the next two seasons? OK, its different times now but it could never ever happen again.

To be fair, you're a one Club City which is very much a rarity & that's why you get the Crowds you do... :)
