Anyone traveled to Hong Hong from Chiang Mai by land? I was thinking this may be an interesting alternative to going down to BKK to catch a flight. A stopover in Ha Noi might be interesting. Thanks for any suggestions.

Never tried it myself, but all fairly straightforward, i gather, if you speak Mandarin. Difficult otherwise.
