What is a G club?

What are Bank and Florence clubs, social clubs or drinking clubs (i.e., night life)?

If you are referring to the Florence on Sri Nakarin in BKK, I would hope you have a very substantial income. $100 for a bottle of cheap whiskey and mixer is a bit steep for most expats.

The OP is apparently a "Thai guy", so must be referring to "Gentlemen" clubs indeed of the likes of Florence and Bank, with indeed outragious prices for refreshments, but with very visual entertainment.

Not sure if there are any in Chiang Mai tho...

The Gentlemans club is one of the things I do miss from the UK. A men only enviroment where you can just pop in for a drink and will generally know enough of the members for a game of snooker or just a few pints. No hassle from women, and no wives even allowed in the car park. No incoming phone calls permitted and a big screen for the horse racing and other sports.

Golf days, horse racing days, curry nights, bbqs', comedy nights etc. - My missus hated the UK Gentlemans clubs!

dam_n, the waitresses at Warm Up are much hotter... Then again you aren't guaranteed to get some at Warm up, so I guess that's the drawl?

In summary it's a high end Karaoke bar...

if you go with a group of 5 - 10 ppl, the g clubs are almost always cheaper than karaoke bars in chiang mai in my experience

I have never found good value in gentleman clubs though it is more about having money to separate from the have nots of the world surrounded in an environment of pretty women...

For better value, go to a go go in bkk..

But then again, if you have money to burn and wish to be pampered - (remember you are only getting attention b/c you are buying it)...
