Here is what was left of the car standing in the entrance to the Intercontinental/Holiday Inn Hotels last Saturday afternoon.

Same one that was on his facebook page.

I did notice from his facebook page he also belonged to an anti red shirt group, and some of the remarks on that site wouldnt be allowed on here.

Did the little boy not have the strength to open the window and ask the gents to please move the motorcycles, or were they beneath him?

Maybe he didnt want sunburn on his lily white skin.

Who knows, just another spoilt little brat who hides behind daddys name.

Or, much more likely, the toughs on the motorcycles happily blocked his path. Seeing that he was young and the that he was driving a porche, they most likely refused to move. So he nudged their motorcycles with his car, only to have it completely destroyed.

lol yeah they feed him, dont forget the money he spends also supports hundreds of thais..... without him no jobs its a double edged sword

sorry but how doesbuying a Porche "help hundreds of Thais,,"

It helps Porche, the local dealer and WHO else - no one....

dont talk dribble...

Are you serious? If he has access to enough cash to own a porsche, then his monthly spending is most likely 100x that of a average thai, thus creating jobs while putting large amounts of cash into the economy.....fairly simple economics

Are you assuming that his family makes its millions without exploiting any poor Thai workers? Or maybe he earns his own pocket money trading in commodities...

That's my take on it as well. It's supporting them if they are my employees... it's exploiting them if they are anyone else's employees. In fact, my companies are a beacon of light for all the world. They should write gospel music about me. No, that's not hypocritical.

Yes, it does make you cringe to see so many posters here trying to make light of the little scumbag's "fun". As I said elsewhere, it is the ability of the spoiled spawn of the hi-so elite to be able to kill or maim ordinary people and get away with it, that fuels so much of the anger felt by so many of the reds.

Not just this case, but do you remember that other spoiled brat who ploughed his Benz into a queue at a bus stop? Sure he got a term of imprisonment, but Daddy's money (and the slimy lawyers that Daddy could afford to hire) made sure that he didn't serve a single day inside.

One law for the rich, etc., etc. :)

I remember that too. Horrifying and unbelievable.

The political arguments here mean nothing to me, its not my country - I've no right to get involved - but a wealthy kid being able to get away with killing people because his family has money????

It certainly doesn't help Thailand's reputation.

I still say that it was an accident and that he is saving face by saying he was trying to kill them and not that he sucks at driving. I just don't see "Hey, let me smash my 12m baht car into those motorcycles as a form of revenge and risk being lynched" as a realistic scenario.

Doesn't actually matter. What does matter is the punishment he receives.

Let's see.

And what about the paymasters son, his company which has no track is suddenly awarded a lucrative advertising contract inside the MRT and daddy at the same time has the contrcat taken away from the professional copany which won it.

But hey never mind, daddy is the savior / the champion of democracy.

ever heard of "taxes" ?

Ever heard of how the rich avoid paying taxes?

Kind of a playground argument there. The rich avoiding taxes is usually along the lines of not paying your full 35% and paying something like 27-28% instead. That's when the whingers usually start moaning about how the rich are destroying the environment 'more than the poor' or some other argumentative tangent.

Not necessarily referring to that "porche kid", but I think a lot of farang simply HATE rich Thais (and especially rich Thai teenagers) because these farang came here as gods to lower class Thais, then found out that there is a hi-class Asian tier which, in effect, destroyed the farang "white-god" status. (And even, in effect, demoted these white gods to... well, never mind.)

A lot of these farang are simply envious.

I see it a lot on Thaivisa.

I find most of the Thai upper class to be very polite and well-behaved, save for a few spoiled brats here and there.

However, I don't see how the proportion is anywhere more that the low-class "street thugs", etc.

But when we see a high-class Thai get into trouble we say, "See, rich spoiled brat!", although when it's a street thug from a "poor" family, it's like because... he's simply a street thug (no mention about it being because he's poor).

So why (may be cliche to say it at this time) the "double-standard" in accusing the Thai rich (who many farangs seem to hate) and the Thai poor (who many farangs seem to "love"... literally) ?

:)

I don't really see this "double standard", as I imagine (possibly wrongly) that these same people you talk about would apply exactly the same standard to similar people from their own or any other country.

"Hey, let me smash my 12m baht car"

For a 20+ year old Porsche 964 (which in the UK would cost less than GBP15k)....dunno what has shocked me the most in this story!

Those redshirts do not feed him, his money does. The redshirts are not picking rice to feed him either, they are doing it to make money. If they stopped picking rice then Thailand would import it from somewhere else and he'd have to pay more for his rice, which he would do without thinking twice.

This is one of the more intelligent remarks I've read on here. And it's a rather simple and uncomplicated equation. Good job.

and besides hannity still has not gotton over wetting himself after obama victory over the anti asian mccain

Wasn't it Donald Trumps ex wife who said "only the little people pay taxes"? Talk about contempt for the vast majority of people working hard, but not earning enough to enjoy the tax loopholes. Perhaps its understandable why those paying the full rate of tax whinge.

Even if the rich were paying 27-28%, how is it fair that people with FAR less money pay a higher percentage on their relatively tiny income?

Same throughout the world.

Yeah, you'd probably have to take up that issue with Ivanna, because she was likely referring to the middle classes and not the lower end of the economic spectrum who typically live close to tax free but also consume most tax subsidized gov't services.

Same throughout the world.
