Is It Safe In Chiangmai Just Now?

Featured Replies

We had previously booked a few days in Chiangmai and are now wondering if it will be safe to be there just now? We actually live in Bangkok so am presuming it will be safer than here anyway but our intention was to get away from it all!

Also I know its Songkran time but we are not staying in the main area. Is Songkran just as 'manic' as it is here and Pattaya?? Hope not!

Any info much appreciated.

:)

Well beings as CM is the main centre for the celebrations, yes, I would say so... and it gos on and on.

Safe as houses. :)

I'm in the Mae Jo area of CM and all is well here. Im very close to City Hall and have seen no reds. Just some kids starting the water fest etc and I think downtown is happening but sure it is safe here and for sure 200% safer then Bkk

Lots of fun around the moat if ur in for being soaked in ice-water.

Ill be there tomorrow again :)
