Hi All,

Ok i hope you can help me with a few questions i have?? I have worked in Thailand before for a year in 2007, i resigned from my job just under a year and then had 7 days to leave the country which i did. My employer said that they would hand in the work permit for me ... to which i had no issue with after all they had been in charge of everything re: my papers, permits ect ... The only thing i use to do was sign at the immigration every 90 days from what i recall ?

Anyway i am looking for a new position back in Thailand and i am still on the same passport as i had before - my B visa Multi entry has already expired .. I still have my tax card which i was told would still apply for any other position i take up in Thailand ...

But my question is , after reading a few post on here about not handing in the work permits when you finish work - if i was to get an offer from a new employer ... could there really be problems obtaining a new permit if my old employer didnt hand the old one in ......?

Has anyone come across this one before ?

Does being away from Thailand for two years since my last permit expired make a difference ?

Whats the worst that could happen ? A fine ? A work permit application being turned down ? i still have proof i played by the rules and left when i should have :)

If anyones in the know would be great :D

Believe you dont have to hand in your WP these days anyway, this ruling goes back at least 12 -18 months.

Two year away from Thailand will make no difference.

You start at square one and start again.....apply for Non-imm B with all paperwork....

I wouldnt worry about it...
