I just use my UK credit card, no fees (including taking cash), excellent exchange rate (as good as Wise), pay it off online. So no need to send money to a Thai bank account (just use Thai account for immigration).

How can anyone defend this response? I interpret to mean that they bungled and that the conditions would cause an uproar in Thailand. Her government is most likely now going to the impacted Thai monopolies to inform them that their protected status may be eroded. Obviously afraid of the terms and conditions going forward and too cowardly to be honest with the Thai people.
