Fountain Motors For Ponds

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where in Chaing Mai (not to purchase) but to repair a pond motor. A small plastic part (looks like a fly wheel) broke and all I need is to replace this part vs buying a 2,500B new motor from one of those fish/pond retail shops at Khamthiang flower nursery..

Somewhere there must be a place that inventories old motors where one can buy used parts from?

Thamks in advance,

CB

As far as I know, not possible.

I had the same problem, but because most of these pumps are water tight sealed units, no way of opening the pump, I could not find any specialist repairer in Chiang Mai.

I maybe wrong, but that was my experience and I eventually had to admit defeat and purchase a whole new unit.

If the motor is still running, you only need to replace the impeller. If the motor has ceased, yes it's a sealed unit, and unless you know what you are doing, it's a lost cause.

It must be a giant of a pump to be worth 2500 baht. I have about eight pumps in various ponds and fountains in my garden and the largest gives a a 2.5 Mtr head at 3,000 Lt/Hr and only cost 800 baht.

There is a shop in Kamtieng that sells spares and new pumps at the best prices in town. Too hard to explain. PM me and I can explain.....MM
