April 19, 201015 yr The Oklahoma City bombing occurred on April 19, 1995, when American militia movement sympathizer Timothy McVeigh, with the assistance of Terry Nichols, destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. It was the most significant act of terrorism on American soil until the September 11 attacks in 2001, claiming the lives of 168 victims and injuring more than 680. The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius. The bomb was estimated to have caused at least $652 million worth of damage. The official investigation was the largest criminal investigation case in American history; FBI agents conducted 28,000 interviews, collecting nearly one billion pieces of information. McVeigh was executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001, and Nichols was sentenced to life in prison. Wiki
April 19, 201015 yr The official investigation was the largest criminal investigation case in American history Really? So why they could not come up with answers to the many unanswered questions?
April 19, 201015 yr Forgotten? I've been hearing and reading claims that the Tea Partiers are the same violent, dangerous righties like McVeigh so not everyone has forgotten.
April 19, 201015 yr Do you have any answers to the unanswered questions Kohee? I don't have any unanswered questions on this topic.
April 19, 201015 yr The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius. It was pretty shocking what a bunch of fertilized & oil in a van could do. I remember reading the axle from the van was found a few city blocks away. Also amazing the building was still standing. I remember McVeigh being at many gun shows giving out Lon Horiuchi's name & home address. Im with Michael Moore on this one...gun control. home and abroad! What in the world does gun control have to do with fertilizer bombs?
April 19, 201015 yr .........Im with Michael Moore on this one...gun control. home and abroad! What in the world does gun control have to do with fertilizer bombs? I think the connection is with the private para-military style survivalist-type groups that train in the forests. With strict gun controls, those groups would be less attractive to alot of nutters. ...thus alot of those right-wing nutters wouldn't be taught how to make the bombs. Mind you, having suggested that connection.....when I was a sapper I was taught how to make a fertilizer bomb ...so it's not just right-wing gun-freaks that can make home-made bombs.

Actually those groups are very tiny & far & few between. We do have very strict gun controls ( in the US ) as it stands now. Anything further & just the criminals would have guns because they never bother with controls/laws to begin with. Agree though that in this day & age of the information highway it does not take much searching to learn anything.

Guns are needed to surf the Internet to read how to make fertilizer bombs?
April 19, 201015 yr Guns are needed to surf the Internet to read how to make fertilizer bombs? Silly. Did I say or imply that? I don't think so. Come to that...how many of those good 'ol boy rednecks surf the net? "Dang mouse thingamebob don't work none too good since I spilt muh beer on it, hyuk hyuk hyuk......Betty Sue, fetch me another beer. I hafta hunt this interweb <deleted> for some read'n lessuns so's I can find out how ta make a bomb". Yeah right.
April 19, 201015 yr If gullible rubes from New Zealand can manage to surf the Internet, rednecks can probably manage it too.
April 20, 201015 yr I worked next to the Murrah building. There was a bomb scare on its dedication. My friend's husband was a SSA employee who rescued several people.
April 20, 201015 yr The lesson that everybody in authority ignored, forgot or just didn't realize is that if you piss off enough people by stomping on their toes or messing with their personal lives, then eventually, out of every group, there will be a few crazies that take it to heart and retaliate. When a person no longer thinks they have anything to live for then that person becomes very dangerous. Mess with my family and I'll also become a terrorist.

Just like that guy that flew a plane into the IRS building in Texas.
April 21, 201015 yr It wasn't even a building OWNED by the IRS. The IRS only was renting a part of it. McVeigh apparently targeted the Murrah Building (a federal court house) because the ATF had a local office there, as did the SSA and a child care facility.
April 21, 201015 yr We do have very strict gun controls ( in the US ) as it stands now. Flying! didn't i tell you not to drink Lao Khao?

April 22, 201015 yr What in the world does gun control have to do with fertilizer bombs? Militia culture. The US shares a passion along with... Serbia and Coatia! and maybe Thailand!

April 22, 201015 yr What in the world does gun control have to do with fertilizer bombs? Militia culture. The US shares a passion along with... Serbia and Coatia! and maybe Thailand! I dont know about that. I live here in the US & have been involved with firearms most of my life. Have shot competitively for many decades. I not only own guns but also roll/reload my own ammunition for accuracy. There are many facets/ uses for firearms. 80 million owners here & you will see a very small percentage are involved in militias. In fact many are very unhappy with the current use of the military industrial complex & what they cost us. The rest believe in their right to defend themselves against anything including a corrupt militia/govt if need be. Hopefully it never comes to pass. That is not a Militia culture that is the reality of freedom. I prefer belonging to an armed free society than to being forced into an unarmed society where only the bad guys & the military have such.
April 22, 201015 yr I prefer belonging to an armed free society than to being forced into an unarmed society where only the bad guys & the military have such. I agree - and I have never owned a gun nor do I have any desire to.
April 22, 201015 yr It's something I can't really imagine... the UK is so small compared to the states that I suppose it's manageable without having arms...
April 22, 201015 yr It's something I can't really imagine... the UK is so small compared to the states that I suppose it's manageable without having arms... UK was not too happy with the new laws a short while ago. But they sat quietly too long. Left it to others & lost in the end. Criminals made out though with a 40% increase in firearm crime. Once they knew there was nothing to fear in the way of defense. I have not followed their plight since so do not know if these laws stand today or not.

From what I can gather TPOCS (the 'owner' of the youtube channel that this video is posted on) is a US citizen who believes in the 'new world order'. He appears (like most other conspiracy theorists) to have stitched together a number of unconnected videos to attempt to prove a point about a country that he's never visited and obviously knows nothing about. I'd have thought that those of you who have chosen to live in/visited Thailand would have realised the danger of comparing the culture and mores of the country of your birth with those of of another country. This is true of countries that, like Thailand, are obviously very different to your own but it's also true of those countries which appear to be similar to yours. The UK is not like the USA. There is no great appetite for guns in the UK. As for the argument that the citizenry in the US would use their personal armaments to crush a 'corrupt' government - how long do you think that government would allow you to continue? Unlike the forbearance that's being shown in Thailand the US government (using the immense amounts that they spend on armanents) would crush you under their heel.
April 22, 201015 yr Not if a large number of soldiers supported the "rebels" or refused to follow Obama's orders. There is more than one way to fight big government.

Sorry Endure I did not even look at who posted that video on you tube. Actually it is not the one I wanted but was close enough. The one I originally saw a year or two back had both the UK & Australia on it. Also it was made up of citizens of those countries speaking. Actually when I glanced at this one it did too no? So perhaps that is the best endorsement & not so much who posted it. BTW the poster if as you said is a nut that still does not mean that poster owns or made that video. In fact I went back to look & see many others have posted that video also & many versions of it.. I do not know who made it but it looks like UK/British citizens in the march? As for the UK not having an appetite for the right to defend themselves... I cannot say with any real conviction as I have never lived there. As for America though & whether or not they could beat the government in a fair fight? Well as I said I hope it never comes about but..... Please remember how America came about in the first place. There is a reason it is included in our Constitutional rights. You think the govt would have an easy time with at least 80 million armed? You know that the private sector of the US bought more ammo & weapons than all of the Chinese & Indian military combined in just a few months last year? That was in addition to what is already owned... It would not be a war that was fought in an open battle field & as I said I hope it should never come to pass that the govt would ask sons & daughters to turn on their parents & families. Also as UG mentioned there is no guarantee that the soldiers will all take up arms against their families. The US has a trend called the oath keepers ..... Which basically shows some of this thinking.
