I'm looking to get a tattoo in this style, do you know a specialist in this kind of tattoo in Thailand ? Budget is not a problem.

I can recommend Jimmy Wong studio on Sukhumvit soi 5 Bangkok under the Fortuna hotel at the back of the Seven Eleven store. Had quite a bit of work done by him including excellent covers of old teenage tatoos. I've also seen him do work of the kind in your photo while I was waiting for my appointment, and he uses quality inks

He's been on Soi 5 since the Vietnam war when he started his business working on American GIs on R&R so very experienced. His daughter has also had a studio on Soi 5 for a few years now opposite Gullivers bar, and his sons also have studios around BKK, well known family.

He normally works at night from about 23:00 until morning. If you're in the area pay him a visit or I'm sure you can get his number from telephone enquiries. He has lots of pre-designed artwork or he will work with you on a personal design.

I haven't been to see him for about 3 years now so if you can't find him, go see his daughter and enquire, she opens much earlier.

Naga Tattoo in Chiang Mai were awesome. Some of my friends got their tattoos designed and done here and I am currently designing my own so I can get Ugly to give me my first. They have an amazing studio / art gallery, all their equipment is perfect and sterile, clean needles of coarse. The best quality ink and equipment they can find. Only problem is, the fish is swimming the wrong way, Koi fish swim up not down.

yes is ugly is great, but some of his employees work very very slow and press very very hard nice tattoo but it scabed within 1 hour due to hard pressing and it hurt really hurt i have 28 other tattoos...so i know a little about the pain.

but again ugly is fantastic

I would suggest the traditional bamboo work done by Khun Sorn on Phuket. Bamboo is better anyway. No infections and no bleeding.

I have never repeat never heard of or met anyone who has been tattooed with bamboo, I have also never heard of anyone tattooing with bamboo.

If price is not an issue go and see boom at ying young turks in BKK near Chatachat market, about the only tattooist in Thailand I can think of who would turn out work to that standard.

You got me, Yes I do mean a bamboo shaft with the needles attached to it with packing tape and ink in little ink trays that look like egg cups. The tattooist looks like he/she is vibrating to a higher tune when "inking" the client. Have a look at his website, it's interesting. LOL.
