I had my worrying moments. Especially as the ref seemed to be a little home team biased.

I'm sure they will show better form than they did today against Bay of Plenty. The NZ Maori will test them.

The ref, Paul Honis maybe an incompetent tit, but he is not biased. It’s more to do with the southern interpretation of the laws of the game. :o

Yes; maybe I used the wrong word, but I didn't really want to use the word incompetent. I find incompetence worse than being slightly biased. A couple of the decisions were horrendous.

maybe I should not have used that word. What I should have said was that Honis is a prize prick! typicical wank ref who wants to be the center of attention. he made mistakes on both sides. The biggest problem is our intrerpretation of the tackled ball rule. We say the the tackler must regain his feet after a tackle if he goes for the ball, whereas the northern refs let anything go.The Lions will have to learn this if they are going to do well in the non-test games.

However, when it comes to the Tests, it will be a different ball game altogeather..both sides will have to play to the inconsistancies of the three refs chosen.
