Ben10:welcomeani:, enjoy!! The atmosphere is great, the fans are supportive, and the view around the stadium is superb! Only the level of football has room for improvement :-) Still, i am always amazed to see the flashes of really high class skills, especially from our team's player number 6 -- still not sure of his name.

In any case, lots of fun and positive emotions! :D:header::drunk:

Appreciate the welcome netineti.

Any tips for first timers? Parking, seating, beer, food etc.

Bringing my daughter and hopefully rounding up a few other m8's to come out of their post World Cup hibernation.

Its the debut today of the Farang supporters flag also, would be good to see you for a few drinks before Ben10, as Mr clough says there are a few of us that meet up at 4pm in the red lion. :welcomeani::header:

A terrible game on a very wet pitch but a good result in the end for Chiang Mai winning 1-0. The win keeps them 5 points clear at the top. Even better result was the third place team lost so Chiang Mai are now 10 points clear of them, only the top 2 teams go to the promotion play offs.

Bad conditions with the rain but still great fun and you guys were spot on with regards to the atmosphere. Can't believe how much support there was even with the rain! My daughter and myself loved the whole thing and looks like we'll be regulars.

The game itself wasn't much cop but I still found it fascinating:

Chiang Mai had most of the ball and were attacking down the wings but were thwarted by some good goalkeeping from Uthai Thani including a fine save in the dying seconds of the first half. Not sure if he was carrying a knock but couldn't help but laugh as every time he made a save he went down injured :D

Rush of blood from the Chiang Mai keeper early in the first half led to a chipped effort saved by the post with gasps of horror from the crowd.

Chiang Mai deserved the win with what turned out to be a scrappy goal but I thought the manager did well with his subs (the powerful No. 40 got on the end of everything and No.4 showed some delightful skills and was unlucky not to get a penalty).

Tips:

* The lower part of the main stand is where the main support gathers with loud enthusiastic cheering and even some dreaded vuvuzelas! Looks like great fun but not for the feint- hearted.

* You are well sheltered from the rain in the upper part of the main stand.

* Shirts are on sale outside the main entrance to the stadium as well as in a shop at the back of the car park THB 399.

* Kids get in free!

* Canned beers available outside the stadium and you can take them inside (same with food). Some promo girls selling bags of cans also appeared inside the stand late on.

It was a relief when CM scored at the end! Difficult game overall, but, indeed, great skills from Nr. 4!

Thaimiller, was nice seeing you for a brief :-)

I saw all of you sitting a bit down and somewhat cornerside -- i believe a bit upper and central view is better.

Was good fun for sure!

I know its a few week away but Im planning an away trip to the top of the table clash at Chainat on Saturday 14th Aug, its a 4pm kick off so I'll probably be setting off about 9.30am, so we can have a steady drive down and a few beers and lunch. if any one fancy's it Ive got 2 spaces left in the car. We should be back in Chiang Mai about 10pm. (traffic permitting)

Here is the table of the North Region from www.thaileaguefootball.com

From what I hear the top 2 and best ranked 3rd between Isaan, North and Central will enter the play offs. In total 12 will play for 4 Division 1 spots. all other Div 2 regions are here http://www.thaileaguefootball.com/index.php?lay=show&ac=article&Id=76867&Ntype=2

well done Chiang Mai so far

Shouldn't Chainat be on 51 points Nigbon 16 wins x 3 points = 48 plus 3 draws = 3 points so total of 51?

You are correct thaimiller. Another table on Wikipedia has it as 51. Some other good info on Wikipedia if you poke around.

2010 Thai Division 2 League Northern Region

Chiang Mai F.C Wikipedia page

Chiang Mai are in the 'Championship pool' at present and have a chance to be promoted to Division 1 through playoffs.

Awesome value for your THB 30. Just 4 home games to go - come on CM, support the Tigers!

Nigbon, thank's a lot for the link! Very nice goal indeed, and the atmosphere is nicely portraed.

Ben10, could you please paste the names of the players in English? I can't read Thai, so i tried to copy paste to google translator, but all the names are in picture forma, not text :---)

I wonder if there will be a time when the whole stadium is full of supporters. I guess that's possible if CM goes to Premier league one day :-)

Cheers everyone!

Looks like wikipedia have missed the american off, I thinks he's number 30 and his name is Brett Buckingham.

I was chatting to him last week at the game and he said he would be playing very soon but he's had a bad calf injury, he's only played a couple of minutes so far at an away game, but his calf injury flared up again. Cheers Ben10 for the squad list.

Thaimiller, i'll be happy to go to this match :--)

Hi Netineti, I'll keep you updated but no problem if we go.

Hi Netineti, I have drove down down to Hua Hin this weekend and on the way gone past Chainat, it took us around the 6 hour mark to get there, so weve decided not to go to the away match, its too far to do it there and back in a day.

Chiang Mai FC has won a great number of games in a row!! Great performance :-)

Thaimiller, no problem! Thank you very much for letting me know :-)

If somebody else fancies going to away matches i'll be glad to join. Alas, no auto device on my part, so i can't go on my own, unless by a bus or train, which could also be an option, if the destination is not so far! So, if anybody fancies an adventure trip by public transportation i am also ready to join
