Renovation of Prachanukul flyover postponed

BANGKOK (NNT) -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has postponed the schedule of renovation for the flyover crossing Prachanukul Intersection from 6 May as earlier scheduled to 11 May 2010.

Mr Jumpol Sampaopol, Director of the BMA’s Public Works Department, disclosed that the BMA decided to delay its planned closure of Prachanukul bridge for maintenance due to a lot of inconvenience of relocating the two huge electricity posts which were under the care of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA).

However, Mr Jumpol reaffirmed that the bridge would still be closed for 90 days as previously planned. Its renovation is expected to be completed on 8 August 2010, 5 days late from an earlier schedule.

Traffic information can be inquired at hotline 1555 and 1197 around the clock.
