Looking For A Good Private Pediatrics Clinic In Bangkok

Featured Replies

My son was born outside Thailand and has just returned with my wife to stay with me in Bangkok. He's only 3 months old now. Back home, we usually have a pediatrician who's normally reachable in case of any medical emergencies. That is, we are advised to call him/her when needed before escorting the child to the hospital (upon the doctor's recommendation based on symptoms).

After my extensive search around, I still cannot locate any pediatrician who has his own private clinic and is ready to share any 'reachable' number (clinic or private) for emergency purposes.

Is anyone here aware of any private pediatrics clinic which has "good" doctors who can communicate in English?

Thanks in advance. :)

Private medical services in Thailand are usually only Dental.

Specialists practice in association with private hospitals such as Bumrungrad, Bangkok Nursing Home and Bangkok Hospital group etc.

To have an individual physician that you may be able to access regularly and/or after hours is usually not possible; especially after hours.

Best would be to register as a patient with a hospital with a service/physician that you are comfortable with in your area to facilitate access and service.

Samitivej Srinakarin Children's Hospital is quite good. http://www.samitivejhospitals.com/home.aspx?sid=3

You can certainly have a primary care pediatrician there but for after hours emergencies, as FBN mentioned, may have to work with whomever is on call. They'll have all the records available to them.

A good way to maximize odds of your primary pediatrician being availabel when you need him or her is to select a doctor who works solely or primarily at that hospital, you can tell b the hours listed in their profile on the website, i.e. look for soemone who has clinic hours at least 5 days a week there.
