In the night I heard my windows shaking, all dogs around were barking.

But I wake up from deep sleep, so I am not sure what really happened.

Did anyone recognize a pretty small earthquake?

Probably just the garbage men backing into the gate of your condo / house by accident. Nothing to worry about.

No it was not the garbage men.

But I also think that an earthquake is not very probable because Bangkok stands on soft land.

Up north they have earthquakes from time to time, and the shocks can be felt in BKK - usually in tall buildings.

Most probably it was a very small shock.

we have some safety steel gates, and they are very loose. So a very small vibration should be enough to create some noise from them.

As well all dogs as far I can hear were barking but stopped after 10 min.

Just I am surprised that I was the only one who recognized it, but if I would have dreamed it, the dogs would not bark, at least not everywhere.

Sometimes tall buildings sway due to high winds. I remember staying on the 20th Fl of a hotel in Bangkok and the room used to sway a bit sometimes.

I have also been in mild earthquakes in tall buildings and it felt like I was really drunk the way objects were moving.

Friday December 24th 2004, Chalong, Phuket at around 08:00 I woke up and felt the bed shaking. I looked over at my girlfriend to tell her to quit shaking the bed. She was sound asleep and quite still!
