So on my occasional visits into Chiang Mai from my home it was already bad enough to have to pass by walled haciendas that were once open fields and orchards, and signs with directions to local yuppie spas. But I think the sign proclaiming the "chic ashram" now takes the cake for neo-sahib pretentiousness. Alas, I have so far been unsuccessful in convincing the wife to sell everything and relocate up to Wat Chan.
