June 10, 201015 yr Is there a number to phone for lost property department for items left in Taxi. Overseas vistor left his video camera in Bangkok Taxi. Things have been found before in Taxis and returned and you never know he may be lucky with his camera. cheers for your help
June 10, 201015 yr Don't the taxis have a central number to call that is listed inside them? You never know. I had my blackberry returned to me by the driver amazingly enough. Good luck.
June 10, 201015 yr Call 1137 (or perhaps 02-1137) in Thai, that the # for the traffic station FM 100, or Jo So Loy. They often help out with lost property. Should provide time and from-to details, color if remembered, and even better the taxi plate #. Mac

I was in a taxi yesterday and with my limited Thai I could hear on the radio that a taxi driver has found a passport of a Japanese National (gave his name) left in his car....
June 10, 201015 yr The Taxi hotline is 1164 give them the licence plate and they can track down the driver.
June 10, 201015 yr If you are quick enough then you have surprisingly high chance of getting it back.
September 27, 201015 yr @stjohm - the taxi number is 1644 not 1164 (I called that number and it was Thai customs!)
September 30, 201015 yr Dropped my mobile in a taxi and a Thai freind called it when I realised, Taxi driver said he was too busy and out of the area could he bring it to my condo the next day at Noon. True to his word he brought it to me. Gave him 500 Baht for his time and he was well happy. Plenty out there wouldn't if it wasn't for security. If you live in a condo or they drop you at a hotel most of them take down the number of the taxi that took you there. Even if they don't the taxi driver can't be sure so they'll hand it in. Wonder what happens to the stuff no one picks up? Probably goes to charity
