Thai Sim Card On Arrival

Featured Replies

My buddy is arriving at dawn on Thursday and needs a Thai phone number pretty quick. Does AIS or DTAC still have a booth in the arrivals area where he can grab one?

Thanks!

True still gives away free sims at most airports. Then it is only 1 baht a min to ring to most countries overseas.

If you just need a SIM Card immediately go to one of those two family marts...

Seconds later you are online (or your buddy)...

^ You mean the Family Marts at the airport? That's cool as I can also pick up a few San Mig Pale Pilsen's for the road trip!

Id just wait till you are where you want to be. You will pay full freight for the card and have I suspect limited choices. I like DTAC. I like CATNET card for calling USA @ B4 per min. 009 on DTAC is B7 I think.

Can't recall ever seening any booths...

I just buy at the newsagent/book store thing...

99baht Happy Sim...

Cheers,

Daewoo

After you exit the Customs hall, turn right, and AIS and DTAC both have booths before you reach door 3 (probably even before you reach door 4?).

The booths will be on your left hand side as you walk toward door 3.

^ well spotted wp, i have been thru the airport about 10 times these past 2 weeks and noticed them. i ended up buying a SIM at a phone store and sms'ing my buddy with the number so he could advise his clients before he left the US. he bought a dual-SIM 'Blackberry' here and has had no problems.
