Styrofoam Glue

We want to put some styrofoam on our ceiling.

My father in Europe told me that this is usually glued very easy. Here the guy want to use latex glue which does not sound right.

Anyone know which glue to use and how it is named?

yes in a bird house. we glued it already, with a "wrong" glue, but it holds.

I try to farm swiftlets for bird nest soup.
