Hypothetical Theory

Featured Replies

What if modern Thailand were to return to an absolute monarchy? Sure, such an idea would seem unfathomable in this modern world....but consider. One just has to be observant and understand contemporary Thai history to acknowledge that there really isn't too much difference in what has been practiced for the last several decades and the hypothetical suggestion of a central ruling kingdom. What say you...??:jap:

Actually, I think it will go the other way. Some politicians and religious leaders are talking about abolishing lese majesty laws.

I don't feel that this is an appropriate discussion really. Unless we were in the pub. (preferably overseas).

The OP is within the rules.

It's the ones that come after I'm thinking of.

I agree that it might seem resonable now and 5 minutes into the future, but laws in our nation prohibits me from saying why it soon would be a bad idea.

Quick go for it- the mods are all out on the pish! burp.gif

Good try, Slip, but not ALL the mods! :whistling:

I'm thinking of the forum rules that say...."nor to criticize the monarchy as an institution." I'm also concerned about where this discussion might lead. Better in the future to check first with a moderator before posting any topics involving the institution of the monarchy. The only exception is discussion about lese majesty laws (within limitations--see the forum rules).
