Dengue In Western Forest Area

Featured Replies

We are planning a trip next weekend to Mae Wong National Park in the southern part of Kamphaengpet province out west towards the Myanmar border. Anyone know about the current incidence of dengue in these parts ? I would be very grateful for any current information.

You may also want to ask about malaria.

Not sure about that area, but here in Chiang Mai my wife's 30+ year old niece is in the hospital suffering from dengue hemorrhagic fever, and when we went to visit her, we found out that there are over a dozen others on that ward with the same thing. And her condition is getting worse by the day.

Yeah thanks I am aware of dengue being virulent in the north and was curious if it was similar in more southerly parts especially in forest areas. I am aware of the likely issues with malarial mosquitoes.
