Nfl 2010 Season

Kloghead, the ASN cable network, which is carrying the NFL games for TrueVisions, is provided under BOTH their Platinum and Silver packages... So, you wouldn't want Gold because, inexplicably, True hasn't included ASN in its channel lineup.. But Silver is a whole lot less expensive, and does include ASN.

Randy Moss back to the Vikings, a done deal. Wow....didn't see that coming.

Well, for the Pats, their three rings came with a set of rather no-name type guys at WR--Deon Branch didn't do much after he left to prove that he was all that great--and they didn't win it all with Moss.

Sure will be interesting to see if Moss can be the difference in getting Favre and the Vikes mojo goin' again.

fyi, I re-subscribed to NFL Game Rewind package today, while they're still have a pre-season rate of $39.99....which is $10 off the rate they'll start charging very soon or once the regular season begins. This year, Game Rewind includes video on demand of every regular season game, but not pre or post seasons.... It was nice to see that even now, before the 2010 season starts, the Game Rewind package includes full access to all the games from the 2009 season as well.. And the subscription is valid thru early January.

But, I was really angry at the NFL about a different matter... After I subscribed, their web site offered a discounted $10 subscription to what's left of the pre-season... So I thought, maybe that would be a way to go back and see some of the earlier games I missed... But that's not going to happen...

Although they were still offering the preseason live package today, the last day of games in the preseason, they told me online that the package validity period expires tomorrow... So you'd have exactly one day to view any of the games before your subscription expires... And of course, no where on the NFL's web site or info about the package does it explain that... Thanks, but no thanks....

I am interseted in the NFL Game Rewind package but if your ISP Address is in Thailand it is not available to you. Is there a way to get around this by obtaining software to hide you ISP Address? You mentioned that you re-subscribed to NFL Game Rewind, if you live in Thailand how were you able to do this?

One final question, how soon after the game ends in the U.S. will you be able to watch a reply of the game in Thailand? In other words, if the game ends at 3:30pm in the U.S.( 3:30am in Thailand), at what time will it be available to view a reply in Thailand.

I currently watch the Bears games live on online TV at 12 midnigt to about 3:30am but if I could watch a reply of the game the next day without knowing the score, it would be like watching the game live at a more convienant time.

Thanks for any information you could provide to me.

While living in Canada half the year, I watch a lot of the early season games live on television. And do so up until I leave for Thailand in November. It's been an interesting season this year with lots of upsets and nobody dominating. Many of the initial picks by the so called knowledgeable pundits have been FAR off the mark. I'm sure glad I'm not a betting man or I would have lost a fortune betting on the preseason favourites.

Other than their first game debacle this season, the New York Jets have been a tough team and could make it right to the final dance. Bret Favre looks like he should have retired after last season. Peyton Manning is his usual amazing self, but he's missing some key players to get him to the final. But I wouldn't count them out yet. Lots of teams are 4 wins and 2 losses, and many more are 3 and 2. It's anybody's season to win or lose.

hahahaha . . dallas sucks!!

We have been through seasons like this before and have gone on to win superbowls the next year with the same players. It is all about coaching.

Their season may be over as it relates to the playoffs, but they still have a good defense and play two games late in the season against your Eagles. We both remember how last year your wide receivers cowered against potential hits and the defense this year is better than last year(they have lost all 4 games by 7 points or less). Hence, they can still play a spoilers role and if they spoil the Eagles playoff chances then this season will have not been a total washout.

Frankly, Jerry Jones deserves this. Going into this year, they needed a safety, a field goal kicker and help on the offensive line. Phillips, a very good defensive coach, took care of the defensive need by converting Alan Ball into a safety, but they have gone backwards on their other needs.

They tried to convert their long kickoff specialist into a FG kicker and not only can he not make FG's, he no longer can put kickoffs into the end zone which he did regularly last year. They now rank #29 in yards given up on kickoffs. In addition, they badly needed to shore up their OL, and the only experienced player they brought in is Alex Barron. This is hilarious given Barron is widely known to be the worst offensive lineman in the NFL. Despite injuries to others, Barron now rides the bench.

With the problems in the OL, Romo has already thrown several interceptions from tipped balls at the line of scrimmage (even one of his TD passes last week were tipped at the line). In addition, his need to constantly dump off passes is fooling nobody. He is under siege and Phillips and Jason Garrett virtually did nothing. The only offensive category the Cowboys lead the NFL in is offensive penalties.

There are many in Dallas who would love to see Cowher move in now.

Go Rangers!

omr, why are you giving up on the season already? is that what cowboy fans do? still early . . especially this year

I gave up because what happened to Romo was inevitable. I expected a season ending concussion, but it ended up being a season ending bone break. Either way, the result is the same. No Romo for the rest of the season, leaving it all up to a 38 year old Kitna.

The fact is, the team gave up themselves. Phillips vaunted defense now let's the other team score as much as it needs to win. The Cowboys score 27 and the defense allows 34. Then the Cowboys score 35 and the defense allows 41. The team is gone. It needs new coaching and this won't happen until next year. Right now, individuals are playing for money. No more, no less.

At this point, I'd say OMR is pretty much on target...turn out the lights, the party's over....

Dallas will have the Super Bowl this year, but Dallas won't be in it..... or probably the playoffs at all for that matter...

They were already headed in that direction, but Romo's injury seals the deal.

I'm only wondering, who's going to end up with the better record at this point, my 49ers or OMR's Cowboys... A real race to the bottom....

The 49ers won today. Dallas will not win anymore games this season. They've quit so we are now, pretty much, guaranteed to get the #1 pick plus an easier schedule next year (assuming they play next year).

If Jones doesn't (a) back away and allow in a coaching staff that can coach, and (B) use the #1 pick to draft an offensive lineman, then it will be the same next year.

For me, once a Cowboy fan always a Cowboy fan. I won't be picking a new team to root for. With baseball season ending, its now on to the Stars and Mavericks.

For anyone who has access to a U.S. IP address, the NFL is offering a promotion of one-week's access (this week Nov. 8-14 U.S. time) free viewing of their NFL Game Rewind service, which allows you to view any/all of the prior games from the 2010 regular season.

It's the usual kind of promotion where, if you sign up and then don't contact them back to cancel, it will automatically be converted into a paid subscription after the one week free trial. But, now, they've also reduced their regular season package pricing to a midseason rate, which is $24.99 for access to all 2010 regular season games through the remainder of the 2010 season.

That's a bit of a discount from their early bird season pricing, which was $29.99 this year for the whole regular season, and their once-the-season-started full season pricing of $39.99... For those who don't know, provided you have a U.S. IP address, you can watch online, on-demand any/every regular season NFL game on Game Rewind starting about 24 hours after the completion of the live game.... I've been a satisfied customer of theirs for two years now.

Here's a print of the promo email that I received....

Here's the link to follow if you're interested in the offer, which again, you'd need to access using a U.S. IP address....

PS - Because the free trial expires this coming Sunday, the 14th U.S. time, and that day's games aren't available on Game Rewind until the next day, the free trial would give you access to all regular season games from LAST Sunday backward to the beginning of the season... But not to this coming Sunday's games.

Well, the Cowboys did a good job on Sunday against Green Bay in starting to make OMR's prediction come true... But, I think, that's not likely to happen... Just out of sheer embarrassment, they're going to beat SOMEBODY sometime during the remainder of the season.... I'd bet on that...

Now with the departure of Wade Phillips, perhaps that will pave the way for Mike Singletary to step in as the Cowboys new head coach... GO MIKE!!! :whistling:

While they're at it, they really could use a DECENT backup QB.... I know Romo supposedly will be back soon... But with the way QBs are getting knocked out around the league these days, I'd think any smart team really needs to be able to find and hold onto a second string QB who can really play if the need arises...

Look what a difference it's made for the Eagles with Vick and Kolb, or even the Raiders with Campbell and Gradkowski.

Dallas will not win anymore games this season. They've quit so we are now, pretty much, guaranteed to get the #1 pick plus an easier schedule next year (assuming they play next year).

It will be interesting to see what Garrett does with Michael Jenkins. He showed the dog in him two seasons ago when he backed off a tackle against the Giants and showed it again last week when he backed off of a tackle and then smiled while on camera. Dallas fans look at him the same way Eagle fans look at Desean Jackson. A lot of talent, but neither wanting any part of the violence that playing in the NFL involves.

You are right on Kitna. He is still a good pocket passer, but without a sound OL, a more mobile QB is needed. They should have gone for Vick when they had the chance, but I am sure a lot of teams are now saying that.

OMR, i wouldn't say we look at desean like that at all . . he's just 170 pounds. maybe you don't see it, but he does block downfield when he can. he doesn't take plays off either. now, if your talking confidence/cockiness, then it would be hard to disagree

Sitting in Bangkok, I read a lot and that includes the Philly press. There is dog in Desean, but that doesn't mean anyone says he isn't a highly talented WR that most teams would love to have. Its just that he does not like to go over the middle, maybe because he is only 170, but when he goes over the middle his head is looking a lot of places other than the ball.

Jenkins, despite being 200 lbs., makes way too many "business" decisions on tackles. Deion could get away with it because he was very talented, but Jenkins at best is a good corner and at worst is what we have been seeing.

I can't understand all the tiebreakers, but I do know the Cowboys play the Eagles twice and the Redskins once and they have split the season against the Giants. This isn't the strongest division this year, and someone is going to win the division and unbelievably it is still up for grabs.

Where can I catch the Steelers vs Ravens on Monday, Dec 6 at 8:15AM?

This game will be shown on TRUEvisions, both TrueSport 3 and ASN, as will the Jets v. Pats on the following (Tue. 7 Dec.) morning.

The Tavern on Sukhumvit Soi 4 is open for SNF and MNF, although it is a bit of cramped space.

Thanks! The Westin will show the game in the Zest bar, albeit without sound. I guess I'll schlep the laptop down and listen to streaming audio.
