  • Thinking about Manchester these days , and all the great artists the city produced.    The Smiths with a strong message  in this song.

  • It is 50 years ago today that The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Time is flying eh?

Twisting a neon strip light a little too hard yesterday, it imploded in my hand .A nasty shard of glass headed straight for the tendon controlling my ring finger. Blood everywhere, which wouldn't stop. Excellent treatment in the local hospital and free, being on the Social Security scheme.

God bless Thailand, tea and sympathy, and efficiency.

Friday night can only be fast and furious. Love the way Johnny and the bass player kick this off

A soulful Johnny

Perfect upcountry music, either on the porch or in the pick-up.

Being a philistine I could never really get into Yes but this number was a cracker.

One of the very few rock musicians to have had a real name as exotic sounding as his stage name,- Don Van Vliet ( take note Reg Dwight)

Bo Diddley giving it all its worth. These songs are for Simon43 and his thread about many of his friends dying - and they weren't old too.For myself I've known a few old farangs croak, but that's what you're supposed to do when you get old and cranky- no point in boring those around you. It's when folks are young it's sad, one guy I knew, a keen cyclist, went to Laos and never woke up in Wang Wiang- a heroin overdose. His poor mother couldn't afford to have his body flown home so all she got was his ashes.A terrible waste of a life.

Anyway:

Not quite Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine, but close enough, even gets the Whispering Bob nod of approval.
