Fly Fishing

Featured Replies

I understand there is some very good fly fishing for predator fish at a lake north of Bangkok, often known as 'predator lake'. it is advertised as avenue by some of the expensive fly fishing holiday companies. I mat a guide at some lakes in Bangkok who was willing to take me there but wanted about £200 per day! is anyone familiar with this lake and how to get there. Also would appreciate any info about good places for fly fishing in Bangkok and Pattaya area.

Thanks

Hi,

Lake Monsters or Predator Lake is west of Bangkok about 2hrs drive. However as far as flyfishing or lure fishing is concerned it could no longer be described as good fishing, very challenging is a better description although if your persistant you may pick up one or two fish. The day ticket is very expensive.

The pond is IT Lake Monster and a couple of hours drive from Bangkok. The day ticket is 3500baht for half day luring and at 1pm live/dead meat bait or 7000baht for whole day regardless for Thais or farangs. All are predators fishes pacus, alligator gars, red tail catfish, arapaimais etc etc. Ideal if you reach this pond at 6am for lure fishing so if you are in Bangkok you leave a 4am to maximise fishing.

If you need a guide-I paid 3500baht he pick you anywhere in Bangkok advise you and sent you home- pm me and I will give you his contact.
