charliebadenhop Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Is it made in a wood fired oven? Looks like it!!
charliebadenhop Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 turns out it is made in an electric fired oven. I bought from them yesterday, and will not go back.....
XJ650 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Sorry Charlie! When I bought my pizza I ordered the pizza standing outside the shop. When I came back 20 minutes later I got the pizza in a box, still standing outside the shop. So I had no idea if it was Wood fire oven or electric oven. As you saw on my photo it was a little bit burned here and there so maybe looked like wood fire oven. The taste was good but not up to the pizza I normally buy from Ban Lom Jen. But they also have electric oven what I know and for me they serve the absolute best pizza in town.
sceadugenga Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Doowall was open today with good coffee and plenty of space in well ventilated ares.

XJ650 Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Me and wife took a bikeride today and stopped at Charin Garden Resort for a coffee. They have very good coffee and their cakes are something special and they also have good lunches. Link in Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/7idJ2tcX7uZ4Gf9D6 And if you go from Chiang Rai and choose hw1211, make a shortcut on a smaller road to see a very beautiful area. Here a link in Google Maps with that shortcut: https://goo.gl/maps/yz1shZyPKvMV8pE16 1 1

I got the impression she was now sole proprietor.
charliebadenhop Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Beers and Rest. is owned by a husband and wife. I would be quite surprised if they are now separated, and they always seem to get along quite well. But maybe....
XJ650 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Today we stopped at Chef Sasa and ordered two pizza, one Hawaii and one Quatro Stagioni. Take away price was 500 baht. We were there a week ago and at that time I ordered a pizza with Blue Cheese on top! Fantastic! But the two classic pizza today was also very tasty! The chef is an Italian, very nice guy and he knows how to make a good pizza. We will be back! Link in Google Maps to Chef Sasa: https://goo.gl/maps/NjMptd3YyjoAeESh9 1 1

Most recent visit was yesterday, for an early lunch with gf - by car. A very nice place along the Mae Lao river. Excellent coffee and very good food too. i add a picture of the view from the restaurant on the river, and one of their great selection of pies. 1 2
XJ650 Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Today we visited Feliz, a new restaurant/coffee shop on hw1020. Very nice, good coffee and a lot of special cakes. It is a new building and they have a quite big room with Ac but also tables in a very nice garden. The garden even has a waterfall. Popular Post sceadugenga Posted May 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 17, 2020 We climbed the mountain to Doi Chaang for coffee and macadamia nuts today and the town was really jumping, every cafe (and there’s a few) looked crowded. 3
sceadugenga Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 We had a coffee and cake at Singha Park yesterday, using the road frontage complex. It's officially take out but you can use the tables outside and they will give you a buzzer to alert you when your drinks are ready.
sceadugenga Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 One of the mrs friends had a birthday Monday so I dropped by Barn House Pizzeria at Singha Park to pick up a pizza. This place never disappoints, great to see it up and running again with a few lunchtime customers. 1 1

Popular Post statman78 Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 My wife and I went to Ribs and Co last night for dinner. We haven’t been there for awhile. I was pleasantly surprised that the expanded their menu. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and my wife had a rib meal which included half rack of ribs, salad, rice, garlic bread and 6 chicken wings. Everything was good as usual 2 1
Popular Post XJ650 Posted July 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 1, 2020 Me and my wife visited Chiang Khong on Monday. We go there a couple of times every year to enjoy the fantastic food in Bamboo Mexican House Restaurant. And it was as good this time as it has always been, Best Mexican food in Chiang Rai Province in our opinion and served by very nice people. But because of this Covid-19 etc you must order your food in advance. Just call 087 305 1750 a day or two in advance so they know you are coming. Popular Post XJ650 Posted July 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 1, 2020 We always stay over night in Chiang Khong and the last 3-4 years we have stayed at Day Waterfront Hotel. Just on the Mekong River and very nice and friendly people that speak good English. Link in Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/PCcxkAFmvUvTGMwS7 View from the balcony. 5 1
charliebadenhop Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 Thanks for your reply. Looks great! Ordering on the phone in English ok? I would have trouble knowing what to order! Any suggestions?
XJ650 Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 They speak good English, no problem. This is the menu that I see in their Google Maps info, link https://goo.gl/maps/aABsYYCcWPN49ujs7 But they probably does not have all dishes in the menu for the moment because of the lack of customers these days. And this menu is probably old so it is not up to date with what they have and prices. But talk to them and they will help you! Very nice people.
