KrisG Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Hi, I have a Wii system which was purchased in Bangkok. It's chipped so I'm wondering if I buy a wii fit board and game from the UK, will it work with my local system? If I decide to buy the wii fit board locally, what should I expect to pay. Thanks
Familyonthemove Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 We have a WII from UK and it will not work with games bought here, but it seems to be OK with accessories bought here (I bought a second controller in BKK) ... Our WII has not been chipped though and so it's a standard UK spec WII - I've heard that they can be unreliable after they've been altered. Costs here seem to be at least twice the cost compared to the UK. Much cheaper if you can buy from UK or US.
a1f Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 The wii board will work but the software won't because it's for a PAL system. You can buy a local copy of wii fit from mbk and it should work fine.

That is precisely the case, and I should know since I brought my board from the UK and had to get a game here - the original UK disk was not recognised. Oh, and should anyone be wanting a board (along with Thai and UK disks) I have one in perfect condition with silicone cover that needs a home for a fair price... PM me if interested (I'm in Chiang Mai).
KrisG Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 By the way, if anyone out there has any wii games they are looking at selling, can you PM me as I may be interested in buying.
indiasummer Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Hi, I'm down in Phuket and am currently looking for a board, do you still have it? If so how much are you selling it for?
