They probably are achieving this by 'cunning means' ie see the thread below. Did / are they cutting out Torrents ??- I suspect they will cut out anything that solves a bandwidth bottleneck and then lie about it anyway...

Internet services in LOS are 'hit and miss' - I have a 3BB Premier Account, for a year it was great, in the last month it has been rubbish. Slow, unreliable and unavailable. Poor customer support, having to wait 4 days for an engineer to call - not to visit the house - just to call me on the phone to discuss the problem. The problem was with their server - did not need a callout and they could have fixed it easily 4 days earlier had they just made a bit more effort running some server tests.

I suspect soon 3BB will free up some bandwidth by cutting out certain traffic and for most of us the speed and reliability will 'improve' again - for a while anyway...

With a Sync speed of of 7.168Mb and the IP speed of 6.01Mb you are getting pretty much full IP speed considering your sync speed. Assuming you are on the 8Mb plan, you should be able to get over 7Mb in IP speed if you can get your modem to sync at the full 8.192Mb. Your international speed sounds about right for TOT, especially to D.C. which is 12 times zones away. The slightly low sync speed is probably an attenuation and SNR issue (physical line issue/distance to DSLAM). But when it comes to internet in Thailand and assuming your are in Khon Kaen, you are still doing pretty good. Wish I could get your speed, but in my part of western Bangkok / my moobaan, TOT can only provide up to 4Mb. Cheers.

Nice to hear a good report for once. :D
