Thai - Cambodia Conflict Hun Sen Responds to Revocation of Honorary Degree
Photo from Hun Sen's FB Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen posted a pointed rebuttal on Facebook following the decision by Thailand’s Ramkhamhaeng University to revoke an honorary degree previously conferred upon him. In his statement, Hun Sen dismissed the move as insignificant, recalling that he had discarded the degree as far back as 2008. “There is no need to revoke it. I already discarded that degree in the toilet back in 2008, when Thailand deployed its military to invade Cambodia’s Preah Vihear Temple,” he wrote. He further stated that the honorary degree held no value to him. “I hold no pride whatsoever in a piece of paper bearing your name. Hun Sen’s intellect was not born from your institution. Hun Sen’s intellect comes from the teachings of the Cambodian people and the schools of Cambodia.” The revocation decision by Ramkhamhaeng University followed ongoing tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. Hun Sen’s firm rejection highlights the enduring sensitivity of this longstanding bilateral issue. The university’s move and Hun Sen’s response underscore the complex interplay between diplomacy, national pride and historical grievances in the region. Crime Former Boxer Sets Fire to Two Malaysian Tourists Outside Mall
As usual I see dumb posts about thailand still being safer than uk or whatever woke country of the day. The fact is the whole world has gone nuts due to wage gaps and inequality. I would argue that Thailand is more woke than canada, uk, aus whatever.... they literally let everyone in the country. It's much cheaper and safer to buy a ticket to 🇹🇭 than it is to pay a smuggler for a space on the boat to Europe. How many scumbags came to this country to do illegal things? THAILAND LETS EVERYONE IN!!!! And having an empty stomach is certainly a motive to bad things when you've got nothing to lose. In Canada they keep these people in check on taxpayer's dime. Give them drugs, food and money. So the fentanyl zombies do have something to lose. No one cares about hungry in Thailand. Certainly well heeled people like BOB should be very careful talking about their wealth in Thailand. Bob, you've got to stop bragging about your money. The only people who are impressed are the ones who are thinking about borrowing some. -
