Can Not Conect To Sedd Box

Featured Replies

I'm trying to connect to https://retiro.xirvik.com which is a Seed Box all I get is the below error message. Can a few people click on that site for me and tell me what you get or even if you can get into the site. Very frustrating indeed.

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at retiro.xirvik.com.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few

moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network

connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure

that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

In Chrome I get a warning that the security certificate has expired. Then click on 'proceed anyway' and get a small log-in note for name and PW.

Have a look at your security settings regarding expired security certificates.

In Firefox I get the same:

retiro.xirvik.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on 4/12/2010 7:54 AM. (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

But do you have problems with other websites that is using https? If not, you do not have any firewall blocks for port 443

I vote fore the security settings in you browser as suggested by Opalhort...

For Firefox you will need to install an Add-on.

"Security Error: Server Certificate Expired" occurs if the site's certificate expiry date is later than your system date. This may be caused by your system having the incorrect time, or by the certificate genuinely being expired.

In both cases, you should make a judgment as to whether you still want to trust the server for what you want to use it for. For example, it may not be a good idea to send your credit card information to a site with either of these problems, but it may be acceptable for posting on a forum. If you trust the server, you can can get rid of the alert by installing the Remember Mismatched Domains extension for Firefox. It adds a "Don't warn me again about this certificate for this domain" checkbox to the Domain Name Mismatch and Server Certificate Expired warning windows.

Hope this helps

Sorry, in doing a little more research, this was the solution for Firefox prior to version 3. Version 3 and above offer a way to enter an exception in Tools->Options->Advanced settings, so this add-on is no longer supported. The method to enter an exception varies slightly with the different versions of Firefox 3.

For Firefox version 3.6.10

Go to Tools->Options->Advanced->Encryption->View Certificates->Servers->Add Exceptions

Enter https://retiro.xirvik.com

Click get certificate

Tick permanently store this exception

Click Confirm Security Exception
