Which bank do you use?
Great. Stick with BBL and your foreign currency account. For your next extension, if you use money in bank method be prepared to sign a bogus BBL form. Not me. -

Report Luxury Cars Probe: Customs Investigates Filipino Contractors
Photo courtesy of PhilStar The Bureau of Customs (BOC) in the Philippines is set to investigate the ownership of 40 luxury cars reportedly belonging to contractors Cezarah Rowena "Sarah" Discaya and Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya. The announcement comes after a viral video allegedly showcased the couple's impressive collection, raising questions regarding the legality of the vehicles' acquisition. In an interview with True FM, BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno revealed plans to initiate a probe following public concern. "Since this information is now open, I would order a probe this week," Nepomuceno stated, indicating the priority given to these allegations. The cars, some of which might have been imported, are under scrutiny to determine if they were legally acquired. Nepomuceno noted that while the BOC employs a Letter of Authority for commercial operations, investigating a private residence would require court approval. "If it is a house or residential, we would be needing the courts… I would have this checked immediately. This is the first time I have heard about it," he explained. The Discayas are linked to Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp., a company identified by President Marcos among a group dominating the nation's flood control projects. This detail adds a layer of complexity, suggesting potential links between these projects and the luxury vehicles in question. Public interest in the case is high, with many questioning how the couple allegedly amassed such a fleet. The luxury car market is well-known for its high barriers, owing to strict import regulations and taxation. Nepomuceno's prompt action signals a commitment to transparency and accountability, which could reassure the public and reinforce the integrity of procurement processes within the country. For now, the spotlight remains on the Discayas and the legality of their vehicle collection. If irregularities surface, the case could prompt broader discussions on government contracts and regulations surrounding high-value imports. Estimated values of luxury cars can reach millions; in Thai Baht, a single luxury vehicle can range from 3 million to 30 million or more, depending on make and model. This places the potential worth of the couple’s collection at a considerably high figure, further intensifying interest in this investigation. The unfolding story highlights the broader implications of wealth and governance in the Philippines, as authorities navigate the fine line between private enterprise success and public accountability. For now, the BOC’s next steps are eagerly anticipated, as they may uncover key insights into the Discayas' operations and the nation's import protocols. Why do only Russians love Classical Music, these days?
You dont like Georgian folk music? It has that Gregorian polyphony which characterizes ancient church music. Fabulous country, too bad their language is indecipherable. Im heading over there to check it out in a few months. How bout this one, Stalins favourite, Suliko. His Ukrainaian and Russian henchman would sing along. -
