Report Luxury Cars Probe: Customs Investigates Filipino Contractors

The announcement comes after a viral video allegedly showcased the couple's impressive collection, raising questions regarding the legality of the vehicles' acquisition. In an interview with True FM, BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno revealed plans to initiate a probe following public concern. "Since this information is now open, I would order a probe this week," Nepomuceno stated, indicating the priority given to these allegations. The cars, some of which might have been imported, are under scrutiny to determine if they were legally acquired. Nepomuceno noted that while the BOC employs a Letter of Authority for commercial operations, investigating a private residence would require court approval. "If it is a house or residential, we would be needing the courts… I would have this checked immediately. This is the first time I have heard about it," he explained. The Discayas are linked to Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp., a company identified by President Marcos among a group dominating the nation's flood control projects. This detail adds a layer of complexity, suggesting potential links between these projects and the luxury vehicles in question. Public interest in the case is high, with many questioning how the couple allegedly amassed such a fleet. The luxury car market is well-known for its high barriers, owing to strict import regulations and taxation. Nepomuceno's prompt action signals a commitment to transparency and accountability, which could reassure the public and reinforce the integrity of procurement processes within the country. Only the ignorance of the comment struck a nerve.......................perhaps I am just bored hearing that stupid comment over the last 20 years.....and, guess what, nothing has changed. hat Permission o Stay stamp that someone obtained through an agent is as valid as one obtained from walking into your local immigration office.
