Arisman claims he is in Thailand

By The Nation

Fugitive Arisman Pongruangrong has claimed he is still in Thailand and has sometimes visited Bangkok.

In his radio interview published by Khaosod Wednesday, Arisman said police would not arrest him.

"I'm still here in Thailand. Sometimes I went to Bkk. Police saw me but wouldn't arrest me."

Asked whether he was still safe and sound, Arisman said: "Not quite. I've been hounded wherever I go. But many Thais have been helping me."

Arisman said Suporn Attawong, another red-shirt fugitive, is still alive.

The two red-shirt leaders have fled from Bangkok together when troops moved in to crackdown on protesters on May 19.

"He's still alive. His first objective is to stay safe so we had to avoid meeting each other," Arisman said.

Arisman said he would not turn himself in to fight the terror charges because he decided to fight on.

"I'm not like my friends. They gave in, but I wouldn't. I'll fight. They shot at me and I fought."

"I thought they'd kill me [on May 19], so I decided my own fate. I left stage amid sounds of gunfire."

Arisman recounted that a shirt vendor named Sompop helped him escape on May 19.

"I wore new shirt, pair of glasses and a wig. In front of [Erawan] shrine, I said if what I had done was wrong, let me be killed."

He sadi he chose the most dangerous escape routes "because they wouldn't look for me there. Rumours about my arrest must have to do with imposters."

Arisman said the shirt vendor was afraid but he wanted to help.

"He was so afraid he couldn't walk but he wanted to help his knight. Sompop wanted to be on the same page of history with me. He took me to Phetburi Rd, Pratunam Complex, where I saw hundreds of snipers," Arisman claimed.

"There were about 20 soldiers to receive me. They were all democracy lovers. I wanted to go back and fight. They stopped me."

Arisman said he now misses his three kids dearly.

"Big problem for me. I used to kiss my 3 kids every time I was home but I can't do that now," Arisman said when he was asked about his family.

Arisman said no to reconciliation campaign by Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart.

"He played a part in the killings but now he's calling for reconciliation," Arisman said.

"I'm not like my friends. They gave in, but I wouldn't. I'll fight. They shot at me and I fought."

More like: "They shot at me and I ran to a Burger King."

He refers to himself as a "Knight"? I guess when mediocre singers get fat they have to satisfy their egos in politics.

Arisman: I go in and out of country as I please. /via @tulsathit

This guy has got to have ascrew lose. He's wanted but no one's doing anything about it so he boasts about it.

You can bet your backside they will now matey

I expect that he is still walking around in Thailand. Same same Kamnam Poh. The cops are too busy collecting tea money from those without helmets to give this guy a moment of their time.

He obviously thinks very highly of himself....

Reading his verbal diarrhea, brings back memories of his speeches to the masses. Another misfit with visions of grandeur who has an imagination which seems to wrap his power of recollection. When does the old, 'I am short of money but the troops are donating to keep me comfortable', I am being hounded and hunted due to political enemies, I shall return when the time is right, etc. come in? Just what we need, the various 'WANTED' fugitives taking turns giving radio/interview updates on themselves.

Selective Memory Syndrome, that's what I would call k. Arisman's ramblings. Having seen hundreds of snipers at Pratunam Complex doesn't make much sense either. Missing his family I believe, but that's what you get when you decide to run. The last part

is somewhat hilarious. k. Arisman obviously sees himself as victim of all those nasty people. Probably already completely forgot his famous karaoke tape 'burn it my way' ;)

I saw him at MBK the other day, trying on new shoes.

I though I saw him as well, but cannot 100% confirm. He seems to have put on a little weight.

Awesome dude....I thought I saw him on Sukumvit buying DVDs

Is there a reward for any assistance to authorities that leads to his capture?

Could be a bullet depending on who you ask; I wouldn't get involved.

People are more likely to provide tip offs to authorities (e.g. DSI) if there is incentive (i.e. greed factor).

Surely any peace loving red or PTPer should immediately turn him in to disaccocaite themselves and their movement from extremists and encouragers and enacters of violence. The way of violence is not a democratic but and autocratic way. The red movement and PTP have an opportunity to show they really are about peaceful democratic change and not just a bunch of power hungry politicos waiting to seize their opportnity to exploit and intimidate. Lets view this as a test of their true credentials.

Fugitive Arisman Pongruangrong has claimed he is still in Thailand and has sometimes visited Bangkok.

The subject of one of the more memorable events of 2010 as he struggled to get his fat ass over the wall and escape:

He didn't look so brave and sure of himself then.

Arisman said Suporn Attawong, another red-shirt fugitive, is still alive.

Another of the rotund Red Shirters on the run from the law, who calls himself "Issan Rambo" as opposed to Arisman's "knight" :

"I'm not like my friends. They gave in

He wasn't calling them cowards when they were united before:

A review of his targets:

According to Arisaman on this video, his list of targets for burning are:

Siriraj Hospital,

All Muslim Mosques,

Government House,

Important Ministries,

Airports,

Rajavithi Road,

Bridges,

Bank of Thailand,

Commercial Banks,

Military Barracks,

Court of Justice,

and NGO's

will all be destroyed.

His retort is:

"Not one of these will remain standing."

You bring Arisman, Ill bring the rope.

I'm beginning to think you are a closet red shirt militant. Your violent language and criminal intent embraces the same kind of 'one crime justifies another' logic that most red militants engaged in illegal activities espouse.

And as with the criminal element of the red shirt movement, your spiteful invective serves only to destroy your own credibility.

Any defense of that murderer shows you for what you are. - You can take your "my brain is bigger than your brain" and go home.
