There's a fairly simple search facility on the K&N website. http://www.knfilters.../appsearch.aspx

From looking at that it would seem they don't even exist yet but I guess you'd have to contact them direct to know for sure.

One thing is for sure, if they aren't on the website yet I can't imagine that they would have already been shipped to Thailand.

Went to the web site. They have OIL filter for 250, but no air filters for either bike.

It says ALL HONDA CBR250RR-N 250 - All

Is that definitely gonna be the same?

Also what's the benefit of a K&N oil filter? Are they not to be thrown away when you change the oil?

No. It's not.

The CBR250RR is the MC 22 model.

The new 2011 model is the MC41 and called the CBR250R.

What yr is that?

The MC17 ran from 1987. And the MC19 from 1988. These were both single 'R's though.

The MC22 ran from 1990 to the end of it's production and was the 'RR'.

I was just being facetiousrolleyes.gif

16,18,21 and 28 are two-stroke. Weird that they are only 1 digit out in the early sequence.

Quick note:

Got an answer back from FastCorner. They still don't have K&N air filters for new 150 or 250 yet.

Anyone know who might have them?

I got x3 Hiflo filters from here http://merkamx.com/ 100baht each and 100baht for EMS delivery

And TYGA Performance has some carbon parts available now http://tyga-performa...cb58456630f4b36

I take it they are pod filters? They are available from anyone more or less even K&N you just need to know the diameter of the bikes inlet.

I have the kevlar fender and chain protector... And I paid less that 800b for each from honda... Blody expensive from tygo...

Wonder how their exhaust is coming along...

The ones from Honda aren't real carbon which is why they are so cheap whereas Tyga's carbon is carbon and is actually very well priced compared to most carbon parts for bikes.

I had an email from Paul/Tyga who said ' the triple clamps, rear sets and handlebars (low variety) will be ready in the next week or two. On the exhaust, it is still in development. We also have a single seat cowling coming soon in case any of your CBR250 riding friends are interested in any of these products.'

The Tygo stuff looks like real carbon fiber. The Honda stuff is just plastic with a faux carbon finish. I can't wait to get a nice carbon exaust myself. Have you added any other parts or accessories?

still waiting for tygo's r6 lookalike exhaust... i like it... But september is coming up soon and if they launch it in may- why bother since the bike will be swapped out in september...

Had a look at the vesyrs and the er6f yesterday evening... Think I am 98% on the first... i need it for some more touring...

A knocking update...

Took my bike to see the APHonda mechanic from the big smoke today. My bike is being taken back to Bangkok with him! :( They said it will take two weeks and gave me a f**cking Wave125.:annoyed:

Went straight to my local big bike rental only to find out that their insurance only covers me if i have a bike licence form home...which i dont :annoyed: they said i can take it but if i brake it then i have to pay for it!

Im glad they're fixing it but a bit miffed that im left with a Wave to do an hour commute - each way.:violin: Time to get some some souless four wheeled vehicle quote...

well- they are fixing it so that should cheer you up... Though I do knoe what you mean... It has got to suck to not be able to ride it...

Just two weeks... Then good as new...

So roll on the aftermarket performance add ons. with a 14000rpm limit u can bet this Honda 250 engine puts out a little more than 25hp!! performance cams and electronics are going to make the Honda 250 the bike of choice for those that are looking at higher speeds/performance.

At almost 22,000 Baht over list, I don't think you should be giving this dealer any free advertising!! :o

The OP is not giving the dealer free advertising, he is just stating the facts and if someone wants to pay that for it, then why not?

My thoughts exactly.

I actually went to the dealer and I have no idea if it is the only one in town or not looking for some parts for my Honda Phantom. I saw the 2 there and I managed (just) to get my leg over the saddle and sit on the bike. I personally don't like the riding position as I ride the Phantom which is a comfortable sitting as opposed to leaning forward all the time.

Quite a while ago I added a post saying that in the big dealer at Khampaeng Phet they wanted 140,000 but had no stock and a smaller dealer had a red one in stock for 130,000 baht.

It was merely some information and if anyone was desperate to buy there is a place which had stock and that was the price.

Picking up my black/silver ABS bike tomorrow at 9am (120,000 from Greenwing, Chiang Rai) and will change the oil and filter after 100kms or so, bought some PTT Semi-Synthetic which is 10w-40, suitable for the CBR 250R?

Wouldn't run any synthetic type oil for a thousand kms or 2, so stick to the basic oil. Personally i'd avoid anything with friction modifiers in it until the motor is broken-in, but not sure if bike oil has this or not. Although a lot of the break-in will be done early on there is still some break-in for a little while.

As some say use mineral oil and some say use synthetic I went for the middle ground and stuck with the semi-synthetic although the Honda mechanic said If I didn't use the Honda oil that Honda recommend I might lose the warranty, surely not?! Picked the bike up this morning and did the hard break-in then changed the oil and filter at 100kms. It's my first 'proper' bike so I have nothing to compare it to apart from my 135cc Nouvo Elegance and the few times I've hired one but I'm grinning like a cheshire cat! I'm 6'3 and 90kg and was worried I'd be too big but it's fine, very comfortable and not too cramped. Very smooth ride and gear change and the breaks are very responsive.

I've not ridden a clutched bike for a while so took a few kms of getting used to it and then found some very quiet, empty roads to break it in. Only got up to 125kph which was very smooth at about 8000rpm I think, glad I didn't go for the er6n which I was tempted by as this is fast enough and top speed isn't something which interests me although I saw a Versys in Chiang Mai last week, my next bike?

My exhaust will arrive tomorrow which will improve the sound, the stock exhaust is the only thing I don't like about it, very ugly and sounds like a hairdryer!

The oil filters I got from merkamx were the wrong size, the contact there assured me that the HF111 would fit the new CBR 250R but the OEM filter is much smaller, luckily they had one in stock, part# 15410-KYJ-901 and they did the oil and filter charge for free :D
