School Holidays

Featured Replies

Just ending the school holiday for some schools, and I wondered if anyone had found any new things to do with the kids. There are all the generally known trips such as, hot springs, Horizon Botanical Gardens (Tweechol), Huay Tong Taew (Lake), Chiang Dao caves, bowling, fishing (though interested if anyone knows any good child friendly fishing), playgrounds, zoo, night safari etc.

For our part our 3 year old loved the show at the Playhouse theatre.

I just wondered if anyone has any new places / events to add to the list.

Cheers

Iain

You can try the Mae Sap "bat cave" west of Samoeng. The cave is small yet picturesque and the bats are guaranteed to generate a few squeals from kids and moms, although you may end up in the dog house for a day if mom gets too spooked. Bring your own flashlight (torch to you Commonwealth folks)although there are usually a few weak ones for rent at the cave entrance. Buy one of David's maps of the Samoeng loop for directions and then head to north Samoeng to the hotsprings afterwards to appease mom.
