you can't touch this....

well before eminem know what a rap was....

awesome

Looking at many of the videos posted here - either I had never heard of the artist(s) or had forgotten them completely.

Think back to the sixties - the names of hundreds of performers are still spoken every day - absolute household names.

To me it shows what a desert the music scene has become in the past forty years.

That's what I thought till the lightbulb finally came on. It's a spoof thread I decided. Filled mostly with novelty songs.

I must agree, Humph.

Since the 60s, I could on my fingers the memorable songs and music.

Generally, most popular stuff is just a noise and gibberish.

Recalling the artist, in the main, is beyond me.

So sad to have to say.

Probably more to do with your ages than the music on offer.

I couldn't name but a small handful of groups/artists from the 60's or even 70's. Not my era.

And I can be pretty sure that most of what you might consider decent music from ye olde times is probably a load of crap to people my age & younger. ;)

if the thread & the music in it bothers you so much then start your own from your era & enjoy it as much as we are on this one.

It's not the era that's the problem Boo, it's the taste. There was some good music in the 80's (though less than in most recent decades) but that's not what we're seeing is it? Looks like mostly "club" or "disco" music which by and large is pure shit. Gays and women seem to like it to dance to, but most men I've ever known don't dance unless they're severely enebriated or looking to get laid. In which case it doesn't matter at all what's playing. I have determined there is a difference in sensibilities between Americans and our European cousins. Most Americans don't go to a club to hear a DJ play music. We go to hear a band play live Big difference methinks.

this is the music most of us listened too as teens. who cares if it is good or not, the thread is a laugh, taking us back to our youth. But I'm sure when you were 12-20 years old you had a well defined & sophisticated music collection & never liked or listened ot anything cringy.

At the age of 19 I had about 500 albums and the bitchinest stereo (quadrophonic, Phase Linear, Marantz, Harman Kardon, TEAC, Technics, Bose) you ever did see. Nowadays I just listen to the radio.

But that doesn't mean, nor prove, that any of those albums were any good or any real sophistication in choices ;)

Well OP you should know better. Great nostalgia thread ruined by your pinching one of my favourite tunes of the '90s. Sneaksy thief!

In protest I refuse to contribute a song for oh....at least ten minutes......Hmmmph.
